That’s just nuts. I had to go look closer. Walks and a fielders choice to squeeze the winning run. Very interesting.

Imaging that fielder. Just about any other time with a tie score you go home, but then you’re thinking about the no-no…..and to your point the slow roller bled out options for throws. I’m not sure they get two if there was only a runner on first.Ball was hit just a little too slowly to turn two and the run scored. I'd have to watch it again but I think there was a slight hesitation on the flip too. Too bad really.
Could have went home with the throw and even if the run still scores and the batter reaches, it would still go down as a fielder’s choice and no hit. But you have to go for two to try and get out of the inning.Imaging that fielder. If there’s any shot at all to turn two, you try to turn two there. Barring a catastrophic botch job, worst case scenario is gonna be a man on first with 2 outs and a run in. You go for the play at the plate, it could easily be a man on first and second with one out and a run in and much more potential for a crooked numberI think trying to get two up the middle is probably the way to play that, you limit the downside that way by getting at least one relatively "sure" out at 2nd and you've still got 3 outs of your own in the 9th to get that run back if you can't turn it.
