RIP Franco

Wow! Me and some friends were just talking about him and the Immaculate Reception a couple of days ago. One of the last great NFL fullbacks. RIP Franco

When I was growing up and we played backyard football as little tykes we all would pick our favorite players and pretend to be them while we played. Franco was one of my earliest football heroes. Damn

I really feel for his family. Christmas weekend, they were going to retire his number and the 50th anniversary of the IR.

:sad2:
Is this when the grim reaper starts picking people off to get the annual quota? What a bummer.

Sorry to hear this. A shame they waited so long to retire his number, now he won't experience it

If there is a silver lining, he got to experience the feelings of being told and sharing the news w his family. He may have missed the public celebration, but he got the private one. Had to feel great.

Bummed. Very sad news to wake up to, I'm stunned. Dude always looked to be the embodiment of good health, he was only 72 years old. I guess when it's your time, it's your time. Sympathies to his loved ones, and to all fellow Steeler fans who feel this loss.

RIP, Franco

A video of the Immaculate Reception. It can't be watched enough...

"the miracle of all miracles"

"Franco's Italian Army" (wasn't it the Spanish army?)

Targeting defender lead with the head.

I was joking for someone gets butthurt.

I'm imagining all the yinzers who bought the cheapest airline ticket they could find or tried haggling with TSA to let them through security so they could lay a terrible towel at the Harris airport statue.
