Paying St. Louis to take Nolan Arenado. I don't get it.

his stats away from Coors would concern me

I'm mildly concerned, yet it's not my money so spend away.

And Matt Carpenter will not be at 3b anymore hitting .180

Any player leaving Coors is gonna see a dip in numbers, but man, his OPS is nearly .200 lower away than at home, that's a lot. But his glove will travel, and he's still a good bat away from Coors.

This is one of the biggest trade rapes I've seen. Essentially paying $50 mil and not getting any significant prospects back. They didn't receive any prospect in the top 15 of the cardinals organization. The Rockies only have Blackmon and Marquez are the only two players signed on thru 2022. And they have an abysmal farm system, which this trade didn't really boost.

Just another team that's in it to turn some sort of profit and not caring about actually winning.

That’s trash. Teams like the Rockies and Pirates need to be punished. Rays and A’s are low budget, but at least they try to win
