I heard of a similar situation in volleyball with a board members daughter. Is this a current one or a few years old?The high school I graduated from (long time ago. Back when David Lee Roth was still with Van Halen) is having a fun little lawsuit of their own.
So the story goes, the daughter of the school superintendent tried out for the basketball team. As was placed on junior varsity. Well, because she wasn't very good. But daddy thought she was all-state level and pressured the coach to put her on varsity and start her. When the coach refused, the coach was then harrassed and threatened until quitting her job.
Lawsuit has been filed and e-mails from said superintendent to the school's athletic director about said coach really making the superintendent look very bad.
Doncha just love parents of sports kids who have power and abuse it to get their kids playing time?
In baseball, parents expect the coach to play the 8 best players and their kid. That shit is crazy today. It is a big thing with travel sports now. Parents losing it because their kid isn't playing enough. Even Rec Baseball is over the top. We almost had a fight at my kids 8u baseball game. I couldn't believe it.
In rec baseball now, every player on the team is in the lineup. Went to my little cousin’s game last year and there were seriously like 15 kids in the lineup. Even if they weren’t in the field, they got to bat. I’m sure there was still bitching about the uncoordinated doofus batting 13th only getting one AB and not playing shortstop thoughIn baseball, parents expect the coach to play the 8 best players and their kid.

Yeah -- my son is 9. So I get to see it all. He played both Rec and Travel baseball. Rec -- everyone bats and every kid has to play 2 innings in the field. Travel baseball isn't like that. All they have is pitch counts for kids and daily and weekly limits on the number of pitches 1 player can throw. In rec baseball now, every player on the team is in the lineup. Nowadays, it's probably more like 144th...Isn't the US like 14th or something in the world in education?

Looking around, 50th seems more plausibleWe’re that high? I could’ve swore it was like fifty spots lower.
