Clendon Thomas (1955-1957)
Tommy McDonald (1954-1956)
Mike Gaddis(1987-1991)
Marcus Dupree (1982-1983)

Top 10

10. De'Mond Parker (1995-1998)
9. Quentin Griffin (1999-2002)
8. DeMarco Murray (2006-2010)
7. Samaje Perine (2014-2016)
6. Steve Owens (1966-1969)
5. Greg Pruitt (1969-1972)
4. Billy Vessels (1949-1952)
3. Joe Washington (1972-1975)
2. Billy Simms (1975-1979)
1. Adrian Peterson (2004-2006)

I think Steve Owens is too low(he's top 3), I'd swap DeMarco and Samaje and Chris Brown should at least got Honorable mention.

Samaje has to be at least top 5 by holding the NCAA single-game record imo...not to mention holding OU career rushing record in today’s pass happy culture.

Joe has a very special place in my heart. Top 3.

Marcus is more than an HM.

Shame De’mond Parker was on such shitty teams.I try to forget about those years but I liked him. I think Dupree needs in top 10 but I’m not sure who you take out

But the woman puncher couldn’t get an honorable mention?

Career? A coin flip between Peterson and Simms. But the most dangerous and the guy I'd pick as #1 to save my bacon in a tough game with everything on the line? Joe Washington.......not even close. He was the most dangerous Sooner to ever touch a football. I would also put Billy Brooks in the top 10. He was a tremendous athlete (1st round NFL draft pick).

Mike Gaddis is more than an honorable mention to me.

In 1997 DeMond Parker rushed for 291 yards vs Texas. Which was more than Ricky Williams that day. Parker had over 1,000 yards rushing all 3 years he was at OU.

Just a bit of trivia about Billy Brooks. He was the second OU running back picked in the first round of the 1976 NFL draft (#11). Joe Washington was drafted before him (#4). Think about that: two NFL first round running backs on the same team. Joe and Billy even went before two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin from Ohio State. (And Lee Roy Selmon went #1 in that NFL draft.) Kinda explains how Oklahoma was winning National Championships doesn't it? Billy was from Austin, Texas. He has caught hell for being a "traitor" but he tells people he has 3 conference championship rings, two national championship rings, a graduation ring and bowl rings. He says that always shuts them up when someone gets on his back about not staying home and playing for Texas.

Barry Switzer quote:
"Two of the best players to ever play for me, probably shouldn't have ever played for me," Switzer said. "Billy Brooks and Keith Jackson. Phenomenal athletes and also great receivers, and us running the wishbone."

was this based only on college career or does this include how they did in NFL
