Sinclair Broadcast Group laying off hundreds

On a serious note, I didn't read the link, but did they say how they were choosing to lay people off? Like is it based on department necessity, tenure, vaccination status?

the layoffs were a while ago. The latest news was that they got hacked and it took some of their stations off the air. :dhd:

Sounds like some hacker exploited a hole in their Active Directory service and was able to cause havoc. Sucks to be them, couldn't have happened to a nicer group of pricks. No doubt it is related to the Bally Sports attempts to roll out their own app. They probably have started exposing services and didn't protect them correctly and someone did something like a credential stuff and got through.

Sinclair’s Diamond reported Aug. 30 that full year Ebitda, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, would fall to between $183 million and $200 million.

Meanwhile, Diamond has $8.5 billion of debt and pays about $450 million in annual interest payments so it is spending double what it makes on just the interest on its junk-rated debt. The most junior debt is now trading at around 20 cents on the dollar.

Boy, you just hate to see that don't you? Bally's parent company paying 2x their income just to service their debt. Nail in the coffin. Creditors driving them into bankruptcy and I hope Sinclair loses their ass over this shit show that's been playing out for 3 years now.
 


The latest in the Bally Sports Saga. Not even sure what rights they still have, but they will now be on the FanDuel network. Rangers season over, Stars and Mavs are off Bally. Fuck em
