So I bought some clubs "for my son..."

We took them to the driving range yesterday. Adams A3's, with 3-4-5 Hybrids. I've been hitting blades for 15 years, and I can hit them pretty decently.

But I can't remember when I had so much fun hitting balls. That 3H would clear 160 with a 1/2 swing on range balls. And the short irons were so easy to hit, plus I still got a little feedback.

I'm going to shoot a round with them this summer, might be time for me to go to cavity backs.

I think there is a big problem with golfers being unwilling to accept that the game would be a lot more fun if it were made easier for us amateurs, whether it be through using better clubs, playing from different tees, etc

I have a 3-H in my bag that I don't hit often, but when I connect with it, it goes. I should look into upgrading it to a Callaway something or another
 
I have just as much fun playing as poorly as I do now as I did when I was using my ancient wood shafted 6 and 9 irons and my copper shafted 7 iron. No need for me to waste bucks on clubs. I will still suck.
 
Get your kid a late model or sprint car or midget. There’s plenty of racing happening on Long Island. Anyone that plays golf is a hifalutin sissy

It hit blades as well. Tried cavity backs for a bit but didn’t like the feedback and I hit blades lower/more penetrating ball flight

Only been to Augusta for work and I don’t travel for work anymore, so will probably never go to Augusta again

Same here Hank......Ive changed clubs 3-4x in my life,and it never changed a thing.......still sucked.

I laugh at a couple of buddies who went out and paid a ton of money for some Taylor-Mades,and I didnt any chages there.....

I just wanna tell them,its not the clubs guys......lol

I was using a set I bought in 1988 that still had actual woods (Ben Hogans? Or were they Sam Sneads?, one of those 2 old guys anyway).

But when my Dad passed, I took his retirement set. Metal woods. Can't hit the driver worth a lick. I still use my wooden 3 wood from the tee.

Not sure why anybody would go there if it wasn't for Augusta National. Seemed like a pretty crappy city.

All cities are crappy and Augusta National is in the ghetto. Some people say the riverfront area is cool, but I can live without ever finding out

Golf is a faggy game and takes up too much land that should be used as wood land

My first set was some chapos back in 88 as well.....I was just learning how to play.......

Then upgraded to some Pings early 2000s,and still didnt get much better.....
I played so damn much,I burnt myself out on playing back 2012........I played a few rounds since in a benefit for a very good friend that passed at of a heartattack at the ripe old age of 52.......

Other than,could careless if I ever played again.

As shitty as I am, I actually have had a hole in one. It was 142 yard par three. I smacked my tea shot way to the left and it hit a stump about 30 feet from the green and rocket it back to the right, and just the perfect roll hit the pin and dropped in the hole.
Assholes expected me to buy a drink for everyone on the course. Fuck that shit. I don’t even play golf for money let alone buy drinks for people who I don’t know. I just walked out to my car and left.

The house we stayed at was like a ten minute walk from the course. Neighborhood seemed ok really but that street right next to the course was mind blowing considering what's on the other side of the wall.
