I can remember back to when baseball players of opposing teams before, during and after baseball games were competitors, essentially enemies. After all, the goal is to win and the other guy is trying his best to stop you from doing that.

It's so nice these days to see that these guys are getting paid tens of millions to pal around on the field like buddies. So nice to see opposing players, managers, umps, hell everyone including broadcasters be just so damned nice and friendly before games.

I think we should have a new rule where the nicest team is awarded a bonus run per game. The teams could vote. I'm sure they'd each insist that the other team is nicer than them.

It's so nice.
 
They're probably just trying to outnice Ty Cobb. He was the nicest.

He might legitimately be one of the biggest pieces of shit that ever played the game. Everyone in his family hates his guts because he's a violent, drug-addicted piece of shit. But don't worry, he felt so bad about killing that guy that he sent the kid who watched his dad die a signed glove.

My favorite players of all sports (even wrestling) who are the biggest douchebags in the world and then suddenly "find God" and the next thing you know they are so pure and wholesome.

Did he find Jesus before or after cheating on his wife and beating his daughter up and finally alienating even his parents who supported him through all the lies, drugs and douchebaggery? I'm asking honestly- haven't heard the latest with him but can only imagine him standing on a stage waving his hands at some megachurch of prosperity.

He found Jesus just before signing with the Texas Rangers. This was back in like 2009-2010.

I remember when he left and signed with the Angels and Rangers fans were pissed, he said something along the lines of "Jesus's people turned on him too."
