Sports Radio in your Area

KJR used to be my go-to when I listened to sports radio regularly. They also carry UW and now the Kraken. They have a show with a WSU alum host too. Obviously an abundance of Seahawks and Mariners talk throughout as well.

710 am is the espn affiliate. I never listened to that one much

Those are the two dedicated sports radio stations in the Seattle area. Unless there’s more now and I’m just out of the loop.
KJR is with Softy right? dude should have gone by snowflake dude loses his shit and needs a safe space when Oregon wins or does anything really

I used to listen to sports radio a lot more when I was commuting to Long Island, but that's been several years back. We have the local ESPN affiliate, which I don't care for much, and then WFAN, which has undergone a ton of changes in the past 4-5 years. This used to be AM only, is now on FM and AM; used to be the Mets radio broadcasts but is now the Yankees (and pushed the Mets to horrible, low-range AM stations); used to have Mike Francessa but he finally moved to satellite; used to have Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, until Carton got busted for racketeering...so now Boomer has Gio Benito on his show and Carton actually came back to replace one of the afternoon guys, Joe Beningo (who had perfected the martyred Mets fan schtick). I haven't followed what all happened to Craig Carton but I was glad he was off the radio. Then I was rudely surprised when he was brought back to the prime 2-6 spot.

not sure why anyone would want to listen to local sports radio that doesn't cover their favorite teams?

is that actually a thing that people do?
Oregon fans do. When Auburn played them in the national championship game they were calling into the Birmingham local stations and talking smack. It was a bit odd but those guys actually took the time out to find the stations online, call in and troll.

At first I thought it was Bammers pretending but they didn’t have accents.

For the Detroit market there is really only one choice 97.1 and it has some huge homers on both sides. Valenti hates Michigan but will also trash Michigan State and the big joke is that a tirade he made after the Notre Dame (I believe) game is what got John L Smith fired.

stop lumping us all in with OD

Does listening to SiriusXM radio count as local? Cause it was a real treat last week listening to Danny/Dusty then Full Ride last Wed for ESD talk about how UT was ruining the innocence of CFB
Danny is a fucking pussy with the absolute worst takes.

When I get to listen to XM ESPN crews it’s usually after 10 and it is astonishing how little those clowns actually know about CFB, the “color” guys former players/coaches ect. Ain’t bad but the Other people save maybe Packer in the evening… gross.
XM at one time had King and Childers in different slots, they screwed up letting Bill King get by em and now they just have Childers  , guy loves the game but he can’t hold Billy’s jock.

i really don't mind Packard, he's pretty patient with his audience..

There are some in Tulsa, but here in OKC we have 3 that I know of.
All 3 have good coverage of local teams. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Thunder

Post the ones in your area we might want to listen to.

The Sports Animal

The Franchise

The Ref

1. Sports radio? I'm guessing you give the grandkids hard candy at Christmas.

2. Are any of them good? From what I hear the only time it's fun is when ou loses at something. Otherwise it's a squat circle jerk but when softball drops a game the call ins are suicidal. As an Oklahoma State fan I would enjoy that more than I should be willing to admit but I'm biased. As a random fan, back in the day when I was on a hiatus from XM, I listened to an AM station out of Omaha. It was ESPN affiliated so Mike and Mike in the morning on my drive in. Going home it was local but Nebraska Sports were fun if I forgot to change the channel. Nothing against Nebraska but the calls when they lost were almost enough to rub one out. They won I'm finding something different. They lost and the fan base going apeshit was glorious. And they were nothing compared to what I heard on the Animal after the Boise game. So maybe you are correct but for the wrong reasons

Packard is perfect. He is an unbiased fan but he doesn't put up with people's bullshit. Dusty and Danny are alright. I enjoy them but they have way too much random bs. Neuheisal is good and I like him with the MTSU guy.

The nest were Mike and Mike. Sucks that it had to end but for sports banter they were the best we had. As a second McElroy and Taylor Zarzour. Greg is Romoesque as a color guy and it showed on his show. Taylor fed off that and provided brilliant commentary. We got a bit of it on random morninga but Dvoracek and McElroy has Mike and Mike potential.
