Without going into too much detail, what is your view on SoS? I know it is based on who plays who and all that.
San Diego State at 11-1 has wins over 9-3 Utah, 9-3 Air Force, 8-4 Nevada, but also wins over UNLV, New Mexico, Arizona, and New Mexico State which all have combined for 8 wins. What feeds their ranking most? High ranking because being almost undefeated, the good teams they beat, or low ranking because the awful teams they beat?
Houston at 11-1 has wins over 8-4 SMU and maybe 7-5 East Carolina, but also wins over Uconn, Temple, South Florida, Rice, Tulane, and Navy which have combined for 15 wins. What feeds their ranking most? High ranking because almost being undefeated, the good teams they beat, or low ranking because of awful teams they beat?
You get the idea, Coastal Carolina has faced 7 teams which combined for 20 wins. At 10-2, do you rank them?
Boise State at 7-5 has faced three teams that are 32-4, faced five teams that are 42-17, and only two teams with less than 6 wins. Are they way out of your top 25?
Penn State at 7-5 has faced four teams that are 41-7 and only three teams under 0.500. Way out of your top 25?
