Happened into the Mrs put this on....and it’s really kept our attention through the first 3 episodes or so.

It’s a very dystopian, post apocalyptic world. It does ask you to suspend some reality. But, if you can do that it’s a very interesting story.

I was surprised to see this was all written and production started before the COVID pandemic hit. I’m sure there was some rewrite after the pandemic started as it’s a bit too on the nose with things we’ve caught glimpses of the last year. There is certainly commentary, but it’s not pandering and stays brief while not losing momentum of the arc that many characters are on.

Very interesting watch.

Which service is it on?

Netflix.

And….since the rest of the season was binged I can say it’s a little less as good as it felt the first few episodes. Some holes do pop up, even in a story where you are suspending so much reality.

But it’s a good lazy weekend binge for sure.

That's surprising. I agree that some of the stuff had to be re-written after the pandemic started because some of the little things hit too close to home. The social distancing in the clinic and mask wearing in public. Plus I was at a party about 6 months ago and the host got a notification on his phone that he was positive and well we did what we needed to for the great good.

I thought it was good-far better than the other new Netflix original content I've seen lately (Jupiter's Legacy and Shadow and Bone). I hope it gets another season because the ending left a lot of questions.

It just had to be edited. The article I read was very emphatic that it was written and production started when the pandemic hit. But it just leaves it at that…..and tries to make it sound like this was all original before March, 2020…..intentional or not. I can’t buy it.

Making it all the way through I want to see where it goes, but won’t be super upset if it just goes away (so hard to tell with Netflix). I know I had to mom pegged for where she would be in current events once she’s sitting at the bar saying she’s “a virologist on a project”.

Have watched the first 3 episodes so far. It's giving me a Utopia vibe but more family friendly.

Way way way more family friendly lol. The Mrs watched through it again with the kids yesterday (early teens). They really enjoyed it.
