Texas is baaacck

I am actually buying the Texas Kool-Aid. I think they are about to turn things around. I saw some positive energy last year but man it fell apart quickly the second half of the season.

Still they got a Manning coming and I know to never underestimate a program with a Manning at QB.

I think this year is probably a 7-5 or 8-4 type season but with the talent they are bringing in, they could be rolling next year.

So texas would be 14th in the SEC preseason poll?

Suck it Okie!!!

I actually think that UT has the most likelihood of doing what Smart has done at UGA. Underperforming school, fertile recruiting territory, history, culture, great fanbase (except for a few that shall go unnamed - jk,jk). All they need is a coach that can recruit and coach, bring in 5 years of top 3 classes, and have some luck. UT has that combo, and the luck to have NIL come into play. Now, is Sark the guy or not?

Didn't Sark have talent at Washington and USC

just askin
Yes, but he had issues that seem resolved. He also has had 3 years under Satan. I didn't say he was the guy ... I asked whether he was. Time will tell. Landing Manning was the splash they needed. Going 7-5 this year will not be good. And, I think he can recruit way better at UT than USC or UW.

yeah he took over a really really bad Udub team.. he also got SC the #1 class before getting fired for his drinking problem. It's hard not to root for him, and he's completely turning over the roster from what he inherited.

We saw flashes of his offense working.. and he did it with a solid QB.. just want to see how he does with a much more talented QB that can throw downfield consistently.

Except Georgia was always decent just couldn't get over the hump. Texas has had 1 ten win season the last decade.

I agree. I have Texas picked 2nd in the Big 12 right now but I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up winning it.

Probably the same as every year the last 10 years lol.

They won't win it this year. Rebuilds take 3-4 seasons unless you have Saban come in and get the #1 recruiting class immediately.

I think 2024 and 2025 are the years to watch Texas. That is if the Texas administration doesn't overreact and do something stupid. I think Tom Herman had them going the right direction as well and got let go of too prematurely.

no.. expectations are set for the '23 season. This season they expect the freshman OL to take it's bumps and bruises, and for Ewers to get accustomed with Worthy.. They need to have a 8 win season because it will catapult them in the portal.

Getting to the top of the Big 12 isn't going to take as long as getting to the top of the SEC. I agree on Herman though, I think he had things going in the right direction and Texas got impatient.
