Listening to a podcast the other day, I heard them discussing how bad the UMass football stadium was. What are the 10 Worst FBS stadiums when considering layout, number of seats, lack of technology, overall looks, etc.

Vandy worst in the SEC that I’ve been too
GT is the worst ACC that I’ve been too but that’s only 4 stadiums

I love old rickety stadiums like Vandy and Duke. They both have charm and make for a good CFB day.

My least favorite stadiums are all out circulation now:

Sam Boyd @ UNLV (Iowa State @ UNLV), HHH Metrodome @ Minnesota (Iowa @ Minnesota), The Vet @ Philadelphia (Army-Navy). Just not a single thing I liked about those three stadiums besides the game I saw there.

All of the other stadiums I have been to either had charm, history or were just super nice / comfortable.

fwiw, when UMass first moved to FBS they had to play in Foxborough because their on-campus stadium wasn't up to FBS standards. they renovated it, but i guess it's still not great.

i have only been to Bank of America Stadium, Groves Stadium (Wake Forest), Carter-Finley Stadium (NC State), Kenan Memorial (UNC), Wallace Wade (Duke) and Notre Dame Stadium.

ppl talk shit about Groves because of its size, but it's a pretty nice place to view a game. School has spent a lot of money on it and it's a nice little stadium. wasn't a huge fan of Wallace Wade. had a cramped feeling to it.

haven't been to Carter Finley since I was in HS. don't really remember it too well. will be going back in August for their game against Western. UNC is okay, but have never been blown away by it. outside of the fact that Chapel Hill is awesome. Notre Dame Stadium is in Indiana. That's all I have to say about that place.

I have been to all ACC stadiums in North Carolina and Virginia. Went to see Miami play at Duke one year (quite awhile back). Miami fans were talking about Wallace Wade being the size of some high school stadiums they have been to. I have been to Wake Forest a ton of times. From what I could tell and where I had tickets, there isn't a bad seat in the house. I had a tagline on another board many, many years ago that read: "Give me any two teams in college football at any stadium on any Saturday, and I will be there." One poster replied that he had Army at Akron tickets, come on. I passed... only because of the 7 hour drive.

The Sun Bowl is good. But up I-25 NMSU and UNM have stadiums that aren’t as good as many high school stadiums here in DFW. But the views make up for a little of that if you are sitting on the proper side and looking at the Organ or Sandia mountains.

50 years overdue for a teardown, tbh.
I only made it to Memorial Stadium once (KU vs. Iowa State), and I loved it! I know it was falling apart, but I love the architecture of it, the way it sits in the neighborhood and being an old WWI Memorial Stadium was super cool too. HOWEVER, I understand why they are renovating, and I look forward to visiting the new gussied up stadium @ KU one day too.

I’d say DKR but with that vagina cut into it, the permeating douchiness of the area keeps it remarkably fresh?

Do Washington state and Oregon state still count?

10. VT - Nice campus, good tailgating scene and stadium.
9. BC - Avg. stadium but easy to get to by plane & subway
8. UGA - Athens is a solid place for a CFB game
7. Clemson - No alcohol sales
6. FSU - One of the more uglier stadiums in CFB
5. SC - Upside down cockroach. Tailgating in Columbia, SC
4. Maryland - plain avg stadium
3. GT - Cramp seating. Middle of DT Atl
2. Wake - High school stadium
1. Bank of America, Georgia Dome (old / new), and any none CFB stadium

I remember going to a game at GT in the early ‘60s. My friend and I had seats on the top row. We could hear the players curse and fart. We thought that was so cool.

I'll take your opinion over most people, I've been to Philly for Army-Navy, which probably tops my list at the FBS level.

UCF also makes my list, trash...and the stadium is not that great either.
