Netflix series

A guilty pleasure of a show. Doesn't seem like a subject matter I would care about but the entire series is very well done with Hans Zimmer doing the music. I have only watched 3 seasons and haven't started the new 4th season of it yet. One thing that I didn't really like that took awhile to get used to was they switched to a new cast in season 3 due to a time jump forward.

Amazing how often I’ve seen posters call out watching this show in other threads, but no comments here.

This is not mercy plorst…..I saw this on Netflix a little while back and started playing it in background while I worked. Only, I quickly found this won’t work out because it grabbed my attention so much.

It’s also not my typical type of show, but it’s so well done. And….it is history….and it is well themed timeframes in history. So that really pulled me in.

I just finished season 4 on Netflix and see it’s a month until season 5 drops, and I really didn’t think this, but I don’t want to have to wait.

Yes, the change over of the Queen, Prince Phillip, Margaret, Queen Mum and all of them was very weird at the start of season 3. Jarring even. Because in the timeline it was early to mid 60s at the end of season 2, same timeframe at start of season 3, but all the main characters are instantly something like 15 years older. That’s what made it so jarring, but I also get that they couldn’t just skip over an important decade of this history.

All that said…..it also astonished me how quickly I adapted to this. Maybe 2-3 episodes tops. Now it almost seems jarring to think back to Claire Foy and Matt Smith playing the roles.

Usually a show that starts so well peters by the 4th season, but this was an exception for me. It was super well done, and considering the actress that looks so much like Di that it’s scary the take Gillian Anderson did on the Iron Lady was phenomenal.

I believe there is another actor swap in season 5. It will be the same thing, no change in timeframe (we are RIGHT on the cusp of Desert Storm at end of season 4). It will just be main characters that aged another 15 years overnight.

The age jumps aren’t that bad if you watched the seasons as they came out and had to wait for the next season. Your memory fades so your mind accepts it.

Thats a fair point. Binging it jarring as fuck at first. But not for long, surprisingly.
