Only found out about it recently and just finished watching the other night. It is from the creator and writer of Mad Men. Unfortunately it only ran for one season. It's an anthology Amazon Prime drama series that features an ensemble cast that differs from episode to episode. Each episode is around 1 hour & 20+ minutes long and the plots are completely unique for each episode. The only thing very very loosely tying them together is each episode at least one of the characters has some sort of tie or descendent family tie to The Romanoffs who were a Russian Royal family that was excecated when that government got overthrown. Everything takes place modern day.
Really it's essentially just a series of 8 movies by the creator of Mad Men. Some were pretty good and some not so much. The "episodes" ranked best to worst in my opinion if you want to give it a try to try with the episodes near the top:
1) Episode 2 - The Royal Wife
2) Episode 7 - End of the Line
3) Episode 5 - Bright and High Circle
4) Episode 3 - House of Special Purpose
5) Episode 8 - The One That Holds Everything
6) Episode 1 - The Violet Hour
7) Episode 4 - Expectation
8) Episode 6 - Panorama
