Less than 40 games left in the regular season, it’s officially crunch time.

NL East, NL Central and AL Central are all still in play.

In the NL, the Dodgers, Mets, Braves and Cardinals are all pretty well safe for a playoff spot.

The Phillies, Padres and Brewers are all playing for their playoff lives.

The Giants are still in play, but are a long shot.

In the AL, the Astros and Yankees are pretty well locked in.

The Blue Jays, Rays, Orioles, Guardians, Twins, White Sox and Mariners are all very much alive.

Red Sox aren’t completely out yet, but need a miracle and have to pass a lot of teams.

Gonna be a fun end to the regular season.

6 playoff teams is freakin' ridiculous. 4 is all that is needed.

Red Sox have tailed off in pretty much every department the last two months... offense, defense, starting pitching, and the bullpen. Story's bat has been disappointing but his glove has been sorely missed. The outfield defense has been laughably bad, and one of the only good defenders they had couldn't hit (Jackie Bradley Jr.). J.D. Martinez has been useless the last 2+ months. I'm not even sure if I want them to extend him a QO because he could accept it. Rotation has gotten a bit healthier but it's still spotty. Bullpen has been a disaster and one of the few good relievers (Houck) is on the IL.

NL Wild Card might become interesting.

Braves or Mets will certainly get one spot, but the other two are between:

Philly
SD
Brewers: 2 GB
Giants: 7.5 GB
Dbacks: 8 GB

Certainly it's far fetched to think the Dbacks have a chance, but 2 more games in the next couple of days against the Padres could make it more interesting, after we just took 3 out or 4 against the Brewers.

Giants currently playing the Dodgers, so hopefully LA does them in and we can pass the Giants.

Brewers are up against the Rockies before taking on the Giants later this week.

Giants make me laugh..even with the win last night

DBacks have been playing great ball. I give them that. I went to Chase field a month ago and they were playing the rockies and trying to stay out of last.

Yeah - once we started calling up the young talent, the team got inspired and became fun to watch again.

With it, came wins, a lot of wins, that now have us dreaming of playoffs at best, and a .500 record.

Braves are playing the A's
Mets are playing the Pirates

shouldn't expect much change there.
On paper, nothing should, but the Mets did just get the shit kicked out of them by the Nats in back to back games, and first west coast trip in a while for the Braves, could see them stumbling out of the gate

A big contrast in the leagues this year.

I get he playoffs are a crapshoot and anything can happen, but in the NL I feel like the top 4 teams are all very capable of winning it all.

In the AL, I’d be surprised if a team other than the Astros made it to the WS

It would be a severe clusterfuck if Toronto made it to the World Series due to faggy Canadian vax regs.

We've taken a bit of a hit recently after blowing two leads late to the Padres in loses.

Rockies beat the Brewers earlier today, which makes this Padres/Dbacks game all more important.

Dbacks have no chance at the playoffs.

AL Central may be the weakest division, but it could be the best race. Three teams going at it and Sox seem to be figuring some things out. And it truly matters, because none of them are getting a wild card.

Rays and Jays still have to play 9 games against each other.
