Travel to Canada. Friday, July 2, 2021
Essential travel restrictions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, first instituted in March 2020, between the United States and Canada (and Mexico), will continue until July 21, 2021, or be lifted sooner for fully vaccinated individuals. This is welcome news for communities on both sides of the Northern Border that have been feeling the familial and economic pain.
This is still confusing because last week I read that even those fully vaccinated must have a legitimate reason for entering the country, like work, etc. Fully vaccinated casual travelers would not be admitted. Hopefully this will get cleared up soon.

Couldn’t fit the bill for non-discretionary travel so that was that. My plan this year was to visit Denali Park in Alaska but the main park road was closed due to a landslide and won’t open until the new bridge is completed, maybe 2023. In the meantime I’m visiting Banff in Alberta, now. May travel to Washington to see Mt. Ranier and what’s left of Mt. St. Helens.
