Trump Thursday ⛳️

This thread is dedicated to all the golfing bros out there enjoying life.

🏌️🏌️‍♀️🏌

Well, as much as I’d like to be on the golf course, I am driving into work.

Working for the Weekend

Feels like Friday.

Tried playing as Florida last night on NCAA 25 and it did not go well through the first 3 games.

I think making a new coach (who starts as a C - with a C - staff) is my mistake. Need to just use the default coaches already built up.

Last day of work this week and heading to Vermont for a week. Will be nice to enjoy some weather that doesn't feel like the devils taint.

morning

today's my Friday. Heading to CT tomorrow morning. The fiance's bridal shower is Saturday...I will be golfing then showing up at the end with flowers and to ooooo and ahhhh over the gifts.

Good practice for the baby shower.

Also, the theme of today’s thread goes perfect with your plans.

Our trip up to NH was a welcome break from all the humidity we were dealing with in late June. Still got warm during the day, but it was nice to be able to sleep with the windows open.

I’m not into politics much but seeing 70 + year old Trump driving the ball like that, enjoying life just a few days after having his ear shot off is somehow inspiring.

Really makes me want to start golfing.

I live next door to a golf course too so I got that going for me.

I think we are playing Hudson Hills

you know it was filmed before the shooting, right?

Morning folks. Busy, busy summer. Transitioning from baseball season to football season this week. Why Minnesota leaves a whole month on the table for baseball season when we already are limited on the front end is mystifying to me. Alas, I don’t call the shots.

We’re a couple weeks into football & cheer camp. Equipment handout is Saturday. They go from the 29th - 2nd then 5 days a week all August w a scrimmage mid month. Then down to 3 days a week in the season.

The twins are very lucky to be where they are at right now. Both are competing on top programs with really excellent coaching. Stark difference from previous programs — which is not a knock on the previous programs. This stuff isn’t easy. These guys just have a lot of good stuff going on. Very organized. Clear plan in place etc

My kid gets an actual playbook to study, which is right up his alley.

Youth sports are annoying in some ways. Organizations are competing for kids and their parents' dollars, so rather than work with each other, they just try to take up as much time as possible so you can't do anything else.

Running into this now with dance with Ham.

It is pretty wild. We finished state baseball this past Sunday at 3pm and had football time trials at 6pm that same night. Mini-camp this week, team assignments next week, practices start the week of 8/5.

Football is actually the most flexible with that stuff of all the programs. They make it clear that finishing up other seasons supersedes the mini-camp. Last spring baseball scheduled try-outs the same weekend as state hockey and initially said if you missed a try-out you couldn’t make a baseball team. Fucking stupid. Try telling your hockey team that your goalie won’t be available for the biggest games of the season. Luckily we eventually talked some sense into the baseball board. Idiots.

As soon as I get my team assignment I’ll finish up my playbooks for the kids. This is a feeder system for the high school program though, so it lines up really closely with their goals and objectives. Makes it a little easier on us volunteer coaches. And the high school program is a successful program, so rocking the boat would just be stupid.

The football guys hate the baseball guys and vice versa. Soccer guy hates both and they both hate him too.

We had a hockey goalie on the team last year who missed most of camp and the first couple of games.

I’ve already heard new parents complaining in the stands about not being able to schedule anything all through the season and into the late Fall should the team make playoffs — like, what did you think you were signing up for?

Between the high costs involved in not only signing the kids up but fundraising for the program as well, the volunteer work at games and practice schedules, parents quickly realize that it’s just as much of a commitment for them as it is for your kid.

But if you’re not committed to your kid — then what are you even doing in the first place?

Some people don’t get it.

Hope all is well your way

The boy just had his first scrimmages this week. His team murdered the 2nd graders (he's in 3rd) and tied the 4th grade team.

They very well could compete to win the league this year which is pretty cool given the GCFYL of Cincy is the biggest youth tackle football league in the country.

My shameless plug for my sons team this year. No he's not one of the better players lol.
