I mean, would “we’re going to keep the proud Tulane tradition of being shitty going.” Be preferable.
 
I know the G5 teams now have a better shot at getting into the playoff with 12 team playoff, but they have a much harder path. They'll likely need to go through 4 of the top ranked schools in the B10 and SEC to make it (I doubt they'll ever be ranked high enough to get a bye). There just isn't going to be a team like Tulane good enough to play 4 of the best teams in the nation and win. Those teams might be good enough to knock an unsuspecting P5 off, but that's about it.

Not to mention it's not even like they could have a lightning strike with some crazy good G5 QB and few other high quality players (think like Ridder at Cinci and Khalil Mack at Buffalo) which was sorta possible in the past. Those players will get poached in the transfer portal now
 
Sounds like Schnellenberger when he was hired at Miami.
There is no reason that Tulane cannot do what Miami did.
