UGA - OC Monken to the NFL ...

Well, he's going to be the OC. Get used to it! LOL
It’s on him to not fuck it up. He doesn’t have to build anything. I have my doubts, since none of his past indicates he’s qualified for the job, this screams like another Coley hire

I’m gonna put out a Craigslist ad for a woman I can pay to make up some sexual assault stories against Bobo. It will be for the good of the team

Mike BoBo……oooof.

Well we can’t all hire elite coaches the likes of Tommy Rees to run our offenses

dude probably couldn't even tell you who David Pollack was and what positioned he played without looking it up.
I am confident he doesn't know this:

- In 2014 UGA scored the most points per game in its history - Monken came close to beating it this year but didn't quite get there.
- Progressively got better each year, and we were consistently a top offense in the SEC/country.
- Never had the talent he will have now at UGA, CSU, Auburn or USCjr.
- This was a done deal for weeks - Monken wanted out last year and stayed one more year - CFB coaching is a grind compared to the NFL. He wanted back into the NFL big time. He was never a great recruiter in the rah rah fashion of recruiting. He was just an Xs and O kind of guy that the recruits loved talking ball to. Bobo will be fine replacing that.
- Bobo has been on the recruiting trails since the natty, either in place of Monken or Muschamp.
- Bobo is really tight with the Stockton family ... we might see him as QB1 earlier rather than later.

If there are concerns, they are not that he made a few bad calls as OC. They all have bad days. Monken had Mizzou this year and won a natty. They are:

- Bobo made some bad QB evals in his previous stint at UGA. I am not worried about that at all with Smart running the recruiting show. We will be fine at QB going forward.
- He has some health issues - he was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, which is damage to or disease affecting nerves, which may impair sensation, movement, gland or organ function, or other aspects of health, depending on the type of nerve affected. This happened in 2018/2019, but he is doing better.

Do you think UGA has given up on Dylan Raiola?

Most points per game, yet shit down his pants in the decisive play in the SCar game, and his game plan against Florida sucked and that’s how you lose the division to a team you beat 34-0 in their house.

Progressively got better each year? Hate to tell you, but 08 was a drop off from 07, and those offenses from 09-11 were terrible to the point I don’t know how he or Richt survived the 0-2 start in 11 following the 7 loss 10 and 5 loss 09

Everyone pretty well knew Monken was gone when he was going for second interviews. I didn’t know Bobo was gonna be the next man up because I thought Kirby had finally grown past making stupid decisions

College assistants recruit, and Bobo was at SCar when Stockton originally committed there, those are common knowledge.

Bad QB evals and bad play calls in deciding moments of big games, that’s Bono’s legacy of his first stint

Dell McGee and Bryan McClendon were better in house options. Outside options, the Wake OC should have gotten a call.

Hopefully the talent on the roster will cover Bobo’s shortcomings. But if it is, it’s still a bad decision, just a bad decision that worked out like calling an all in with a gut shot draw and getting lucky on the river

Not a chance. If it gets into a big NIL thing, they will pass. But Bobo has been in on Raiola's recruiting as much as Monken has been. He is a priority and will be taking an OV in March.

You guys have a family tie, and USC has location in its favor. But UGA is in the middle of it.

This came off one of the UGA Boards by a staff member who presumably knows people inside UGA:

The No. 1 player in the nation was told this might happen and if so, what #Georgia's plan was going to be. This actually helps #UGA's chances to land Dylan Raiola, the 5-star quarterback. He and and family really like Mike Bobo.

Borrowing from 247:

“As a family thats been a part of football for a long time you don’t have that kind of success in coaching and not warrant attention,” Raiola’s father Dominic (a 12-year NFL veteran after an All-American career at Nebraska) told 247Sports. “It’s awesome for (Monken), it’s awesome for the (Georgia) program. That’s a sign of a good program when your coaches are continuously wanted and they make steps in the coaching ranks.”

“I don’t think it affects much right now. There was always a chance of that happening.”

Georgia has promoted Mike Bobo to offensive coordinator. Bobo obviously has a lot of experience including coaching the elder Raiola’s old teammate Matthew Stafford.

“Having some experience with Coach Bobo and being Stafford’s quarterbacks coach (at Georgia) and having experience with Bobo and having people that know him it helps to know who the next guy (potentially) is for Dylan.

“The first time we met him, we met (Bobo) maybe last April or March and Stafford has nothing but great things to say about him, always has.”

The elder Raiola added that his son has been building a relationship with Bobo and has a great rapport with head coach Kirby Smart.

The Raiola camp is still in the process of mapping out spring visits including a return to Athens, a campus they’re very familiar with.
