I am truly embarrassed by our 2023 schedule ... see below.

- We have 3 away games, with one neutral, 8 homes games. Our away games are Auburn (1st year corch), at Vandy (fun trip), and at UTjr (our toughest game of the year).
- We get Ole Miss from the West, at home, avoiding ATM, Bama, and LSU.
- Our OOC games are UT Martin, Ball State, UAB and GaTech (1st year corch). SMMFH
- Then you just have a weak SECE - UF looks to be down, USCjr will be better with QB1 returning but we get them at home, UTjr has a lot of turnover, and then there is Mizzou, Vandy and Kentucky.

In our defense, the SEC required that we cancel the OU game. I got some pushback on that, but it's legit. We've never been afraid to play OOC. Look it up. You won't find anyone else that schedules OOC as well as we do. What happened is this - we were @OU in 2023, but didn't have the return game until 2025. Because OU will be in the SEC in 2025, the SEC didn't want to have to work around any schedule that we had. In other words, if their scheduling had us playing at OU in 2025, they didn't want the fact that we hosting OU to get in the way. This is a massive undertaking for the SEC - we are going to go to a 9 game IC, 3-6-6 format, and introduce 2 new teams. They didn't want any pre-existing scheduling to conflict with that. I suppose we could have agreed to just play the away game, but we weren't going to play an away game and not get the revenue for the return trip. So, we have Ball State because nothing else was available at that late date.

We return a ton of production. Yes, we are breaking in a new QB but he's been in the program for 3 years and looks really good. And we have two 5* guys who will compete with him for the job. On the last drive that tOSU had in the Peach Bowl, we had 5 true freshman on the field due to injuries and cramps. We will be loaded again next year and with this schedule we should be 12-0 going into Atlanta. We all know anything can happen, and UTjr in game 11 looks to be the perfect foil, but otherwise it should be a good year.

And I fully expect to get an ear full all year long about our schedule. Don't let me down!

We are making the game winner next season

Georgia's soft schedule is the by product of Auburn and Florida being bad right now (and to a degree Georgia Tech but they don't count because they haven't been good in a long time).

There are tricky games against South Carolina, Ole Miss, and @ Tennessee. However, here are my thoughts on this (talked about this at work at lunch today).

South Carolina - Although this could be a tricky matchup, I don't like where it is located. It is the first REAL opponent on Georgia's schedule and it is in Athens. I don't think Georgia overlooks it and frankly I think they practice and prepare for this team for the first 3 weeks if not longer. I think it could be ugly in favor of Georgia.

Ole Miss - Being in Athens, I think this makes it hard but it could be the tricky, over look game.

Tennessee - I think this matchup will be heavily impacted on how well Tennessee is doing prior to Georgia game. If Tennessee has 3-4 losses going into this game, it won't be a good matchup. If Tennessee is 10-1, it could be an interesting matchup. I personally think Tennessee won't be as good next year as they are this year but we will see.

I am not sure Oklahoma would have impacted your schedule that much because they were 6-7 last year. However, it could be argued that they would have been a matchup prior to South Carolina which could have made that game a little more tricky.

I think a sleeper in the SEC East could be Missouri but they are not beating you guys in Athens.

I hate to say it but Georgia looks in decent shape to go 12-0.

The team will certainly have the talent to win another next season, but it’s damn near impossible to 3 peat in CFB. It’s possible, but I won’t call it.

Plus Bama has never gone more than two seasons without a natty under Saban, so they’re due

I get this vibe that Saban's time is almost up but I still think he has 1 more run in him.

Tennessee is probably the best chance to derail Georgia but I am not 100% sure what we will have next year. I definitely have 0 confidence of Tennessee winning in Tuscaloosa but you guys have to come to Knoxville and replacing Stetson Bennett won't be as easy as expected but Georgia will be loaded on defense.

I’m too concerned about the QB situation. There’s 3 blue chip recruits there, and they’d all have to be major busts to fuck up the offense since the receivers will be better than this year and Brock Bowers will be back, and the o-line will be loaded again.

On paper, next year’s team should be better than this year’s, but you have factors like complacency and a hungry, motivated Alabama even if we do get through the easy schedule in the regular season undefeated

Alabama's red flag is their defense. It was off this year and frankly is the why they got 2 losses. Alabama doesn't seem as big of a threat for Georgia to me until they solve their defense.

The new QB will make or break the deal.

Who is it ?
Have to imagine it’s Carson Beck. He was the backup this season, saw a decent amount of snaps, including most of the 4th quarter in the NCG and likely would have transferred last offseason if he didn’t feel he was next in line for the job.

If it’s not him, the other options are former 5 star Brock Vandagriff and high 4 star Gunner Stockton

Good summary ... not overlooking the Ole Miss game. But we owe them an ass-whipping like they gave us in 2016.

It won't matter. SOS only matters in "selective" cases.

They canceled your game with Oklahoma and Michigan got a game canceled with UCLA.

There is an argument that both teams should buyout their replacements (who could play each other) and UGA and Michigan play at a neutral site.

Probably too complicated but it’s a good idea.

The schedule isn’t your fault this year.

I really like this idea, but there’s no chance of it happening. Hell, play the game in Indianapolis. I heard they did a good job hosting last year’s NCG, and we wouldn’t have to hear a bunch of bitching about teams agreeing to play SEC teams at neutral sites in Atlanta or Charlotte
