Since its eruption in 1980, tree growth has continued along with planting hundreds of new trees.

I was in Wash St in 2005 getting my SHO worked on.

My son and I drove up to look at the area around Mt St Helens.

It was incredible. Layers of mud, trees, sediment, more trees, etc.

And that was after it had 25 years to regrow.

Beautiful wilderness areas, mild summers and winters, and no state income tax.
