Week 0 LOLs

Well you know, they are only 5 years past having Riley for a HC
Got to wait until all of Riley’s players are gone before we can start to evaluate Frost. Right Michigan fans.

Just so you know, Gary was the brains behind his success.

Still should be better than Ohio State's DC last season. Or maybe I should say hope? Nothing is for sure. But right now I have no faith in the Buckeyes D.

I'm ok with that call, in particular. I mean, if they execute it properly and recover the ball it goes from stupid to gutsy.
I see it a bit differently, I am 99.8% sure Trev Alberts severely limited Frost’s ability to do stupid things with offensive play calling that screw up Nebraska’s game chances. I see Frost injecting himself into the game 3 times - the timeout that led to the NW TD before half, the onside kick, and that lone Logan Smothers keep to show Whipple NW wasn’t respecting Nebraska’s QB run at all.

The D in Columbus has been a downright lousy the last couple of years. If I remember correctly last season they were 59th in the nation. The new DC had success at Okie State. Hope that success continues this season.

With that very questionable D I hesitate greatly to say they really are the 2nd best team in the country. But then again the top 25 polls mean nothing to me during the regular season. I pay attention to ranking after the CCG's.

As far as UofM. Obviously I don't follow them closely at all. So not sure who they have returning from last season. My main question about the team to start the season is why is JH starting two different QB's the first two weeks of the season?

That just doesn't sound good. When I lived in the Vegas area I still remember something a USC fan once told me. When a team plays two QB's they really have no QB's.

It's just not very often dual QB's work well for an entire season.

I think OSU will have a quality d in the future -- right now though -- I think you will see quite a bit of the same as last year. They simply couldn't handle physical teams. They pushed around OSU on the line of scrimmage and that isn't something a new coach will change -- it will need to be new players who can match the physicality. It is why I am interested to see how they fare against ND's Offensive Line, even though they may be missing their All-American for the OSU game.

As for UM -- Only reason they are doing the two starting QB nonsense is they don't want either to leave. McNamara is the safe choice, McCarthy should be the choice. McCarthy is bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic, has a stronger arm, but he will also force throws at times because of his belief in his arm strength. It could lead to losing a game they'd otherwise win if McNamara was starting. With McNamara though -- he isn't a guy who will win a game with his arm or legs, which is something McCarthy can do.

I wish they'd rip the band aid off and put McCarthy as the starter. OSU will be vastly more talented than UM, but an elite QB can narrow the talent differential. The kicker is -- we don't play anyone, so both QBs will put up big numbers in their games. So not sure what having each one start a game is going to do?

How does Nebraska change a light bulb?

They dont they just keep talking about how good the old one was.
