What grades do you give your favorite team's report card?

Tennessee

Season: A-

South Carolina Game: F

Tennessee:

Offense = A, very entertaining, very explosive, if I have a criticism it would be could run the ball a little better.

Defense = C-, Had warts all season but the offense was made it “good enough” to win games but then the perfect storm hit in South Carolina when injuries, lack of depth and fatigue all reared their ugly heads at the same time that Spence Rattler started getting his groove back.

Special Teams = A-, Really solid season on special teams, several big plays in different games, IMHO won the LSU game by setting the tone on the opening kickoff.

Expectations = A, Some pre season predictions had UT winning the east, personally I never seen that, I didn’t think the personnel/depth was there yet to beat Georgia and honestly thought a 4-5 losses were possible. Expectations were exceeded by several games imo even with the embarrassment in Columbia.
Overall, job well done.

Coaching = A, imo SEC coach of the year with Baby Beamer second.

Offense - A-: the skill position players get A's to A+'s. But the offense gets marked down a little because the offensive line isn't as good as Caleb has made them look at times. They're solid at run blocking, but their pass blocking would have gotten a less athletic QB killed.

Defense - D+: Mostly a failure. But they get credit for being among the best at forcing turnovers and a pretty good sack rate.

Notre Dame:

Offense: C. Woeful QB play and non-existent WR corps. Running game was excellent and Mayer should win the Mackey if Bowers doesn’t.

Defense: B DL and LB’s had a slow start but got better. Ben Morrison is a legit talent. Tariq Bracy played his ass off.

Special Teams: A 7 blocked punts. Nuff said.

Season: C- I expected 9-3 but hoped they would take at least 2 of 3 from Ohio St, Clemson, and USC. Got 1/3 instead and two other inexcusable losses. But 8-4 after it looked like the season was going off the rails saved the season for the future.

I believe that’s a W

Full refund if it was before the deadline
Checks notes and sees Tuckers new contract last year…. Definitely missed the deadline

Pretty much a D across the board from the coaches to all the players except for the punting game which was an A. Most OU fans probably expected a B+ season if they were realistic. But a D? Totally unacceptable and it will be interesting to see what happens next year. Even a C grade next year will put BV on a very warm seat. The string of long term head football coaches at OU is behind us. It's way to early to predict next year but my early guess is maybe 8-4 which will be another disappointing season heading into the SEC. There's plenty of excuses for where Oklahoma is but none of them make the pain of having a mediocre team any easier.

Compared to last year, all I have to say is...........
