This isn't about what is the best (We have done that already). What is your favorite?

My favorite Western movie watching experience is still the time OP took me out for a nice steak dinner. Followed by opening night for Brokeback Mountain.

Told him I loved the cinematography and the steak. But really it was just who I was sharing the popcorn and smuggled in zimas with.

But, seriously, I like a ton of westerns. Think the original True Grit gets my vote, but The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and Old Yeller are up there too

If I'm allowed to pick a series, I'm going with 1883. Modern, but it was beautifully done.

If not, probably choosing The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Since mine was taken...I'll go with Young Guns. Acting was fair. Story was great. And did you see the size of that chicken.

1883 was fucking fantastic! They could have done so much with it, but they wrapped up the entire franchise in only 10 episodes.

Totally agree. It was like a 10 hour long movie, and a damned good one. Highly recommended for you western fans out there.
It's hard for Sam Elliott to fuck up a western. :beer2:
