Braves built Turner around 96 and thats gone already
Rangers had Globe Life in 1994 and thats gone now.

The Astros are now at 22 years in Minute Maid. texans are about to hit 20...

or is it an individual basis?

there are some like Camden Yards that I don't see being replaced even though it was likely the first of the new generation of parks

Neither of your first examples were destroyed because of age. Braves moved to a better location and the Rangers needed a roof because it’s too fucking hot to go to a day game in the Texas summer.

And Minute Maid isn't a stadium, it's a fucking amusement park clown show.
welcome to the modern ballpark

Turner Field was built in a rush for the 96 Olympics. It was in worse shape than most stadiums of the same age. Plus they upgraded location

Personally, I love stadiums and ballparks with some character and history. I grew up in the era where seemingly every team played in a cookie cutter multi-purpose stadium (Riverfront, Three Rivers, Fulton County, old Busch, Candlestick) just to name a few. They were crappy venues.

Camden Yards is STILL a great place and should be left alone

I don't give a shit what the tourists or the jerk offs in Boston say, I wish they would blow up Fenway Park so I could take a drive down and actually enjoy the game. Fuckin place is a dump and unless you're a skinny midget you will not like the seating arrangements.

Agreed. As I used to say dating back to the Fannation days they spray painted everything green, added some overpriced seats on a wall. This doesn't change the stench and horrible spacing

Baseball has a distinct difference than other major sports. Their stadiums/parks allow for some creativity and personality unique to the city. You really can't do that with NFL or NBA places.

I love the story about how the renaming of old Sportsman's Park was actually what led to the creation of Busch Beer (Gussie had to name the park after himself first and then create the beer after the fact because they wouldn't let him call it "Budweiser Stadium")

I agree, it's time for them to get a new stadium

When you're walking around the bowels of a stadium that opened the day the Titanic sunk it is dank and dreary and then you walk up a ramp and see the field and I have to admit it is gorgeous. The green walls and grass contrasting with the red clay/dirt infield and wow. Visually that is awesome, but then you get to your seat and realize the place was built when the average male was 5'6" and 135 lbs :gaah:

I don't know how old the Marlins stadium is but it needs torn down. Just because
I went to a game there back when they had that ugly statue and bright green walls.

It was weird watching an indoor baseball game...
