He's 70 and it's always been assumed that there's a huge drop-off in wins at 75 years old.

Why retire when you are always in the Championship playoffs?

His retirement will be when they wheel him out of his office on a stretcher.

...unless Miss Terry gets a wild hair.

He will announce his retirement when CFB goes back to voting for a national championship and he will wait for year Bama is #2 and need the #1 team to lose, then he will announce he is retiring to garner sympathy from the voters. Wait, that was a different coach. Forget it -- Saban is never retiring.

Not soon enough.

I don't want him to retire. I want him to stay healthy and young at heart for years to come. I'd also like to play Bama as often as possible and win two out of three. Dude's a great coach at a great school.

He will retire once Brent Venables starts coaching in the SEC. He doesn't want any of that shit!

He’ll retire when he wants to or Bama will have to pay him minimum 60 million to get rid of him. His contract is written in his favor and pretty much for life. It’s up to Saban period.

My point is that he'd want to go out on top.

Bowden went out the wrong way at 80.
The drop-off began at 72.

Paterno went out the wrong way as well.
His drop-off began at 68 after going 12-0.

If they expand the playoff to 12 he can drop off and still be in the playoffs every year. I get your metrics…I just don’t think they apply here.

If he is the Devil, as many say, then he is ageless and will continue as long as he wants.

Personally, since I don't believe he is the devil, I think maybe 5 years time and he will be preparing the University for his exit. He will probably name his own successor since he is a pretty good judge of coaching talent.
