Who would be better at QB than Iowa's QB the first 2 weeks?

What is surprising is how bad their offensive line is this season. That's usually a position group of strength for Iowa but they have been terrible as well

Like I said, single platoon, at least the defensive would be more invested in at least getting the punt off successfully...

Back when Michigan sucked during RR I couldn't fathom that literally anyone on the team couldn't be a better athlete than the QB's we were putting on the field. You're telling me that Iowa doesn't have someone, anyone on the roster that can't complete passes? how is that possible? Hell, direct snap it to the RBs.

Reminds me of a Coach Bryant-Pat Trammell story from the 1961 single platoon days. Apparently, Alabama was a bit sluggish offenively in a game. So, Pat Trammell punted the ball away on 2nd or 3rd down. When he trotted off the field, Coach Bryant asked him why he did that, and Trammell said something like: "I told them if they couldn't play offense, I wanted to see how they played on defense!' Apparently, Bryant was a-okay with his QB making that decision. :)

I looked it up. Their o line is really young so they might have some improvement on that front next season. They need to hit the portal for a G5 QB though and fast

To be fair, he was our 3rd string after Injuries.

Not true. He took over after Speight got hurt (started the 2016 Indiana game, took over after Speight got hurt in the 2017 Purdue game). O'Korn sucked until he got benched for Peters after one series against Rutger.

That 2017 OSU game was frustrating as hell. The offensive gameplan was great, there were wide open receivers all day... O'Korn just couldn't hit any.

The SheriThreet experience was something.

The shame of it is, Iowa has a really good defense, but their offense makes 2009 Nebraska’s offense look like The Greatest Show on Turf.

If I had to pick between a great offense and no defense and a great defense with no offense, I’d pick the great offense with no defense every time

Yeah they are completely wasting it

Their offense may have found Ohio States offenses weakness though. Keep giving them short fields so they can't go over the top on you

Speight was the starter, got hurt. It was between the two of them for a while but then Peters got blasted and carted off the field against Wisconsin.

I still won't believe there wasn't a better QB on that roster. Especially now with transfers, there's no way Iowa doesn't have an athlete that could do better.
