Shortest day of the year. Three more days of work until the holiday break.

Wife finished shopping for her parents last night. Need to get the wrapping for the kiddos started tonight.
 
I still need to get a couple of gifts. I never have enough time and now I know why. This is the shortest day of the year.
 
Rain and big wind and tornado warnings. Might be a good day to watch 1883.

Guessing @RobBase (c) is in his local Target, fighting the War On Christmas.

Wifey was there yesterday, and she said she was going to buy some Lindt chocolates or something like that, but they'd already started changing out the "seasonal" items for Valentine's Day and Easter.

Some poor schlub was in there trying to get ornaments because his ooooooo doggoz had knocked over his tree, but they were already off the sales floor.

more than once i've done all my shopping on christmas eve

now that i rely on buying online, i start like the 15th of december
 
system access update, got notified I've never taken some training and need to do that

Umm, I previously had this access, I took all that training back in 2012....but U being the U, I'll probably end up redoing training so I can update where people get paid from despite doing that for 5 years in a prior a life
 
morning

did a talkie bike intervals and arms ride last night that whooped my ass. Walked the dog, made pasta, made cookie dough for ricotta cookies, which I will bake today...

but got a call from work bright and early for a valve I need to evaluate that I told them about months ago...so fuck me, right?

My in-laws used to do this, too. Thankfully, that eventually stopped.

And it wasn't like it was just that the Olive Garden was the closest restaurant, we'd go drive to like Cherry Hill or Deptford and eat at the Olive Garden.

I remember thinking that it looked fancy and nicer than most of the Italian/pizza joints around me.

Food is trash, though. Better off at Macaroni Grill.
