Here is the list and it makes sense. There are a couple of teams that get a pass on heavy hitters like KY, Mizzou and Ark but for the most part, the strength of schedule is spread out.

The Bammers will have a heart attack because they have the toughest pod which I think is hysterical because they've been given an easier road for years so its time they paid up. The writers say it's Auburn but there is no way we don't play Alabama and Georgia every year so throwing in Vandy was a bone IMO and that is why I think Alabama has the tougher pod. To be fair I don't see a world where they don't play Auburn, LSU, and TN every year either so this is one of the better lists I've seen. The balance isn't perfect but you aren't going to get that.

Here's the full slate of his predictions.
  • Missouri: Oklahoma; Arkansas; South Carolina
  • Arkansas: Missouri; Texas; Kentucky
  • Texas A&M: LSU; Texas; Mississippi State
  • Texas: Oklahoma; Texas A&M; Arkansas
  • Oklahoma: Texas; Missouri; Florida
  • LSU: Ole Miss; Texas A&M; Alabama
  • Ole Miss: Mississippi State; LSU; Vanderbilt
  • Mississippi State: Ole Miss; Kentucky; Texas A&M
  • Alabama: Auburn; Tennessee; LSU
  • Auburn: Alabama; Georgia; Vanderbilt
  • Vanderbilt: Tennessee; Ole Miss; Auburn
  • Tennessee: Vanderbilt; Alabama; South Carolina
  • Kentucky: Mississippi State; Arkansas; Georgia
  • Georgia: Auburn; Florida; Kentucky
  • Florida: Georgia; South Carolina; Oklahoma
  • South Carolina: Florida; Missouri; Tennessee

Auburn's group of three is probably the toughest draw of all of the SEC teams even with Vanderbilt being on the list.
Auburn would lose playing LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Texas A&M even year during this model. They would keep the Iron Bowl vs Alabama and the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry against Georgia. Auburn would gain Vanderbilt as an annual opponent and though there's little emotional response to that, Auburn would welcome the lesser opponent on the schedule.

I think SCar and UGA will play each other every year. SCar is a bigger game for UGA than Kentucky, and UGA is probably SCar’s biggest in conference rival

That makes sense so you could do a four way swap with South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and KY.

Making Georgia vs South Carolina and Tenn vs KY pod games does make more sense.

There’s no way Kentucky and Tennessee don’t play every year IMO. That’s Kentucky’s biggest rival.

I'd be ok with this, those are the 3 games I would want to keep the most. but I can't say this is how I envisioned pods working.

problem with that is that will give Georgia two gimme wins each year in Auburn and South Carolina.

gonna have to make the Dawgs work harder than that.

but then again, its not like Kentucky is a powerhouse either.

Scar's should be: Bama, Georgia, A&M.

IMO, all their natural rivals. Just makes sense.

If you’re gonna get away from that, there’s gonna have to be a non traditional rival from the West thrown in. But, FWIW, Kentucky hasn’t beat UGA since 2009, while SCar beat UGA in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2019

I don’t see Florida losing both UT and LSU. I prefer to keep at least one of those over South Carolina. Also would prefer Texas over OU for an annual game.

And there is no way they would do that to Alabama.

I thought that you would have three pod members and then one permanent opponent from another pod and that may still happen. In fact that very well could be the key to balancing the SOS overall. There is no doubt that Mizzou, KY and Ark probably need another heavy hitter and Bama could use a layup.

For example putting KY as a non-pod annual game on Bama’s schedule makes sense for balance and you could say the Bear Bryant ties gives it some historical context.

Missouri and aTm same kind of deal.

Honestly it’s close to being the best solution otherwise there will be teams you play for years.

That is an unnecessary escalation.

1. It makes sense for Alabama to have those games so regardless it will be close to that.

2. What you want doesn’t matter so OU or Texas is immaterial and it replaces LSU which isn’t a traditional rivalry but a forced one.

3. They will probably make UF vs TN as a non-pod permanent game for you because you are actual correct on that one

WTF? I’m just as right or wrong as you and SI are. This is all just a prediction.

Yeah, that's how I thought it would go, pods of 4 playing each other. I could even see pods playing off to get to the SEC Championship game.

Really it's just Auburn and Tennessee that are must-haves for me, everything else would be nice, but not a given.

As much as I love the Tennessee v Scar matchups,
Having Tenn v Kentucky and UGA v Scar just makes more sense

Also you have to keep the big boot around
