Iowa Hawkeyes vs SDSU Jackrabbits

FS1

South Dakota has gone 19-6 the past 2 seasons but did not play any FBS teams. I think Iowa will control the game but it will be closer than it should be. I can also see it being a trap game too, with in-state rival Iowa State the 2nd week.

South Dakota State 13
Iowa 24

Ohio State 41
Notre Dame 34

I'm not convinced the Buckeyes defense will have improved that much,. especially the first game of the season. Offense should win this won though.

I think you win bigger than a single TD. That is a tough matchup for a team with a new coach and new system to start out with.

OU by 35 easy

Although I think OU puts the game away and wins soundly, I wouldn't expect Oklahoma to put up a lot of points. Brent's system will emphasis defense and you have to replace a lot of talent on offense. I expect it to be a lower scoring game but one that you are never in danger of losing.

Nebraska vs Northwestern

Nebraska lost their first game to Illinois last season with Bert Bielema as their first year HC. Illinois finished (5-7).

Frost is (1-3) in openers with the lone win (35-21) over G5 South Alabama who finished (2-10) that season (2019).

Northwestern: 27
Nebraska: 41

wont be close.

I actually agree. I think Nebraska was very close last year in a lot of games and was better than their record. Northwestern is also struggling.

ND has a new coach but I think Freeman should give them a pretty smooth transition.

True but I am just not a big fan of Notre Dame; not that I don't like them, I respect what they did for CFB; I just don't think they are a very good team and are overrated most years. Ohio State has a lot more talent than they do. I don't think it will be very close unless Ohio State just lays an egg.

UT opens with MAC perineal power,National championship hopeful , and David Letterman alma mater Ball State!

Tough ask right out of the gate but rest assured the mighty Vols and our offensive genius HC will be ready.

Vols by 30.

I think you are spot on with your prediction. I think OSU just has too much fire power on offense, but I think ND's OL will control the line of scrimmage on offense. OSU needs to find some difference makers on defense. They just didn't have any last year. OSU should have one of, if not, the best offenses in CFB again though. Ngjiba-Smith is just a filthy WR and he catches everything.

I am too scared to predict anything with Tennessee but I will go with Tennessee 42, Ball State 24. I don't think game will be close. Tennessee plays @ Pittsburgh in week 2 so that is when things will get interesting. Most preseason polls have Pittsburgh ranked in the top 15 but they have lost quite a bit on offense (their defense should still be at 2021 level or better).

Not only players.
Their OC (Whipple) went to Nebraska.

With everything that's happened, losing players, coaching changes, hardly can field a team, I'd give our chances at 50//50
I know @Illustrious Potentate would say it's 100% one way or the other, but I just can't see it yet.

Oklahoma 24
UTEP 17

@Deep Creek
Thoughts
Have some faith in Gabriel, he is a solid QB.

I think OU will win 35-10
