77 pages of chat vs 8 pages of chat. 900 views vs 19,000 views. It's time to end the drafts fellas.

This will be my last draft. I am in no way upset but the drafts are dead, we had a great run. I love you guys!

Well, I may be looking at this differently - but you're seeing nearly a month's posts compared to a week's. The first pick of that draft was made November 14th and the final pick was December 4. With constant check ins and a slower pace - people were freer to talk. I'm sure that nearly 1/10th of those posts were complaints about waiting so long for someone.

On top of that, there's nearly 5 pages of posts just clarifying the rules of the draft - not something that happens now, as we pretty much understand those rules. Believe me, trying to exploit rules not clarified on the op usually results in "that's been the rule forever". Maybe we need to tweek rules for drafts to make us look at player differently. Implement "best season" rules to make players like Brady Anderson look good. Maybe, dead ball rules (give credit for only 1/4 HRs and boost 3Bs, BA, SB and SH) to limit Barry Bonds' impact. Who knows, probably too complicated, but hey it'll make life interesting.

Yes, there's less sharing of real life events. It's hard to share - especially when 2 of the biggest catalysts for those talks were Ritz and WLK. I mean, I've told nearly no one here that Ruth and I tried to adopt - and that we had to withdraw from this situation when a medical condition had me genuinely fearing I could lose my wife. Things are looking up finally over the last week, but it's been a hard two months. On top of that - I went back to school for my bachelor's and started 3 new jobs in the last 3 years - and plan to start my master's next year. And, I'm sure I'm not the busiest one here.

I see the chat active when there are topics to discuss. Housing market issues tend to be good for a page, at least.

I agree with Shane, maybe doing it no more than once every other month will keep the burn out from happening quite so quickly. Will also allow people time to put something together for more complicated drafts if they know a while in advance.

I'd hate for this to end completely. Ruth would notify y'all if something ever happened to me - right after my parents. That's how high in my regard y'all are. But, I've probably been rambling long enough, and should go to bed.

Sorry fellas, had to bring Emily to a couple doctor appointments this morning.

I did text Meebs

Well I asked about lawn care and got crickets. That was my attempt at conversation, lol.

I think everyone around here is so intent on winning that we've had so many arguments about why the voting system is flawed instead of having general discussions about why someone voted the way they did. Shit I always text Nos on the side and ask him why the hell I was or wasn't voted for.

But also life is crazy, so people might not be on here as much. Plus I think because of political climate some topics have become taboo. So it's watered down the conversation areas.

I still enjoy the drafts, you guys are all a great crowd to draft with and the drafts make you research and discover some new players. Still people have lives and don't always have time to chat like they used to. I hope the drafts stick around but a break every now and then doesn't hurt either.

Well, I for one have a lawn that is almost to my shoulders and a lawn mower with little power. We’re reduced to weed eating as much as our battery can do in a day and then mow after. So, I’m not sure anyone should want lawn care advice from me 😂

We have droughts in California, so long term I'm looking for something as low maintenance as possible. Wanted to gauge opinions on ways to go about this. We're on a corner lot so we have lawn area that wraps around the house (on a hillside). So trying to figure out how to either ways to just get rid of everything or if theres something I can do to just keep it from becoming a jungle.

I liked doing my yard when I had a house but I’m glad I get a break. Plus my wife wants nothing to do with yardwork so it’s all me. Probably a couple years before yardwork for us though

Depending on the area of California you live in, I'd go natural. I have the good(bad) luck to live in an area of Illinois with ample rain year round and yard care consists of mowing constantly. Have been shrinking the area mowed by letting it go natural.

I'm not speaking for anyone else but the drafts are boring now, without conversation what's the point, it's the same people doing the same drafts over and over. I do agree with Sushi about the politics conversation but in all honesty at this point if you are supporting the current administration you should be ashamed of yourself! I know that was uncalled for!! I do agree with Ben that when Ritzy and Savali were with us there was much more conversation, Ritz was literally here 15 hours a day and Savali always kept us included in his family and the boys lives, fuck I miss that bastid! But it's pretty sad that without them we don't talk at all. Ritzy text me a couple weeks ago asking if I had a fantasy football league he could join this year. So far we have Shane, 500, Ducey, Orlando, Ritzy, Stoke, Femur and myself in the league on fantrax, it's a money keeper league. I wish more of you would join.

Back when I started doing drafts on CBS like 15 years ago, we did a MLB trade challenge, we each take a team (usually) a team that would be in the hunt for a playoff spot and another team that would struggle and we would trade with others in the league, to trade and improve our good team for a playoff run and then also trade our vets from our bad team for prospects and we would vote on who did the best job of helping their good team and who did the best job of obtaining prospects for the future of their less than good team. Honestly that's what got me so into minor league ball, I did so much research back then on minor league players it was fun, i'd love to try that again at some point. I think Smitty and 500 might remember when I ran those on CBS.

I don't want the drafts to die but we need to come up with other ideas, also don't be mad about my political jab Sushi! Love ya brother!!

I've literally never had to take care of grass before. My house I grew up and lived in with my parents had all cement driveway and cemented back yard. Then I moved into a condo. Now I'm in a house and it's just a whole new world, lol.

Oh and I have these asshole gophers all over the place. They won't touch my neighbors lawn but they love my place. Any suggestions to get rid of them?

Having seen the yard why not use some rock and some bushes.

Yeah, we're considering like mulch and a few low maintenance plants strategically placed. Only problem is again it kind of wraps around a hillside with a grade, so not sure how it would look. I'm not above mowing grass or doing lawn maintenance, i think for me the hardest part is getting it started. I can maintain it (i think, lol).

But, seriously, I consider gophers and ground squirrels part of nature. If I kill something, I eat it. No help from me as I don't know.
