This is a two way street here. tejas will not be dictating shit to the SEC. Or to ESPN for that matter.

TX/OU going to the SEC is forward looking regarding revenue potential.

That is why TX/OU will NOT be going to the SEC until the Big 12 GOR expires in 2025.

Somebody/ANYBODY show me the ESPN/LHN contract where it says tejas keeps all revenue if they leave the Big 12 and become a part of another conference's network.
Somebody/ANYBODY show me the ESPN/SEC contract that says tejas keeps all LHN revenue once they join the SEC.

Since it's formation, there has only been ONE consistent formidable opponent in the Big 12.

That is Oklahoma.

The SEC is picking up ONE formidable opponent and two names.

tejas is not even in the Top 10 teams in college football viewership.

What you don't seem to understand is that the LHN will cease to exist after UT and OU enter the SEC and all its assets will be folded into the SEC.

If the money ESPN "owes" UT is given to the Big 12 in order to buy out UT and OU then basically what is happening is that ESPN is purchasing UT and OU games early to keep them off FOX.

I think it is hysterical that you think Texas will be able to play the same games they have been doing over the years in the SEC because I can promise you it will not happen. The best you are going to be able to do is maybe get one pay-per-view game a year but the truth is the big teams in the SEC have all their games televised so it has to be a really crappy game to not get picked up.

If you think I am wrong then why would Texas agree to pay for OU to also get out of the conference? Is Texas just going to forfeit tens of millions in revenue to the benefit of Oklahoma out of the goodness of their heart? No. Try using your brain.

The SEC will increase tejas viewership numbers. NOT the other way around.

If little ol' me can dig up these relevant numbers in a matter of minutes, don't you think the bean counters at ESPN and the SEC did so before taking tejas in based solely on name?

Texas draws when they are paired with another name. When they played Ole Miss it was their second highest-rated game of that season. They start playing Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Tennessee and aTm the ratings will go way up. Their games with Arkansas should draw big numbers. It will be a whole new ballgame for them in the SEC in regards to ratings.

This is true but that isn't entirely their fault as watching Texas play Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, Texas Tech and TCU only moves the needle in select years. That isn't all Texas' fault.

It's not hard to do that when you take away their biggest draw the RRR in that game alone will take away the millions. If you look at their average games I don't think the ratings go down that much. The first couple of years with the new teams and numbers may actually go up out of curiosity.

The challenge is going to be able to find consistent games that draw 3 million plus and that is something they struggle with now even with OU and Texas. It's no secret the ratings are driven in the B12 by OOC games.
 
All I know for damn sure is by joining the SEC Oklahoma has been presented with a great opportunity to enhance what it has already accomplished over the years in previous conferences including the Big 8 and the Big 12. Our athletic facilities are very good and getting better. More sports than ever before are pulling their weight. But, OU has to win in the SEC to make this pay off in the long run. If we can work our way to the top tier of the SEC with hard work, brains and some sheer luck the OU legend will more than take care of itself. The money is nice but if we were to fall into a position similar to Nebraska where we are no longer a football power but we still got paid a lot to get beat by the rest of the conference, it will be a failure. We have to win. OU fans are not delusional. It may not be easy or fast but we do believe we can do it. All the $$$ in the world doesn't mean much if we aren't winning championships wherever we are.

The SEC cut a deal last year that one game for each SEC team will be streamed on ESPN+

Yes... They're the typical crappy OOC games.

ESPN+ IS the LHN for individual teams to have sports streamed that wouldn't otherwise get national tv time.

Like I stated.... The SEC will raise tejas viewership numbers, not the other way around.
Oklahoma and the SEC will mutually raise viewership numbers.

tejas also draws majority Texas eyeballs.

A&M already draws Texas eyeballs.

There wasn't much for ESPN and the SEC to gain by taking tejas other than a name recognition blueblood.
