I hate "prequels". You know what happens to the characters down the road. Prequels are fucked up.

I mean, you know the hero and villain are out to kill each other but the one that is doing the next movie later in the sequence is the winner. Or they both survive for the next goddamn movie.

My youngest knows a kid where they are on the same Soccer and swim team and they are in the same summer camp right now.

The parents are nice and friendly and we get along well. They just have one thing about them that I can't over look....

Friday is supposed to be the hottest day, but by Sunday, it's predicted to be between 15-20 degrees cooler than Friday.

Even I'm planning on hooking up my portable AC.
I'd say it's because my kitty is getting older and I don't want her having to deal with it being really hot in the house, and that's partially true, but it's also because I forgot how glorious air conditioning can be and was reminded of it when I was back in Kentucky last summer. I mean, I bought the damned thing right after I got back.

I'm gettin' a little skuuurt. I have recently planted herbs, strawberries, dahlias and poppies. I'm wondering if I should bring them inside for the next couple days. I have to go into the office tomorrow so I can't monitor them throughout the day for wilting. The poppies are just bursting through the dirt so no flowers, but they can take the heat so i'm not too worried about them. Kinda the same for the dahlias. Think if I put up the umbrella, that should mostly protect them? I would think the ambient heat isn't as destructive as searing rays of sun.

Where I’m from, there’s only three vacation destinations.

Panama City, FL, Myrtle Beach, SC and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN

Literally, if someone is going on vacation around here there’s a 95% chance they’re going to one of those three locations.

I go bird hunting in SD every year, have some weekend trips along the way, but that’s usually the only vacation I take

I wouldn't go to Florida unless absolutely necessary. Been to TN and Pigeon Forge specifically a couple of times. At this stage of my life I am more about experiencing places elsewhere. My next destination will be Acadia National

95% of people from MA go to Maine for vacation. There are no two other options.
