IMHO that was the straw that broke the camel's back and Saban decided to shift to linebackers and safeties that tackled/covered in space better. Gotta give Saban credit. He'll adapt to what needs to be done to win....even if it is something he really isn't wild about. He's the best ever at doing that IMHO.

Big deal. It got them a 3rd place finish in the West Division.
It got them a 4-4 record in the 2nd year and a 4th place finish in the West Division.

TAMU was an also ran in their first two years in the SEC. They have been an also ran every year they have been in the SEC.
First year-- 3rd place in their DIVISION
Second year-- 4th place in their DIVISION
That's also ran material--- B12 and SEC

Give TAMU credit tho. In their 1st year in the SEC, they destroyed that B12 team in their bowl game.

I don’t think you understand that UTJr and Vandy is a real rilvary. There is some hate there. It’s more of a rivalry than LSU v. Bama, although that game is almost always better.

The guy who came up with that also did a great video where he explained how he came up with it. Totally unfair to Auburn, so I approve. Too easy for OU so no go. It basically gives OU 2 bottoms and 1 marginal top that is competitively a bottom. Love Vandy’s … UK for the races and bourbon bus trips, OM and the grove, and UTJr who we’ve owned of late.

And it ain't just the aggies doing this kind of crap. With the exception of 2005 and 2009, their rival brethren to the West hasn't done that hot either. IMHO, the college football in my whole damn state has underperformed considering all that is available to them. We (and I'm including everyone stinking school in the state) are not providing a very good return on investment as far as college football goes. Except for Mary Hardin Baylor. They've done pretty damn good.

that 2008 UT team was much better than the 2009 one that made the championship game.. Dumb tie breaker rules got ou the nod. BTW did you know that Bama team that beat UT was a one possession game (2 min left in the game) with a freshman backup, Garrett Gilbert who replaced Colt after the opening series?

so i wouldn't say they shut down Texas.. like the old aggy saying "we just ran out of time" lol jk jk
