Scenario Villiage SEC Schedule Style

that 2008 UT team was much better than the 2009 one that made the championship game.. Dumb tie breaker rules got ou the nod. BTW did you know that Bama team that beat UT was a one possession game (2 min left in the game) with a freshman backup, Garrett Gilbert who replaced Colt after the opening series?

so i wouldn't say they shut down Texas.. like the old aggy saying "we just ran out of time" lol jk jk
It's a true Aggie saying! We had OU right where we wanted them in the 77-0 game but ran out of time. They were exhausted and our plan was working.

I’ve posted it here before … here you go:

State of TX is the most beautiful shaped state in the land..

Gonna be something else when the Westernmost schools dominate this conference soon enough

Yeah
That tiebreaker rule was put in the hands of the Pollsters.
It's everyone else that fucked you over.
Colt fucked us over by hiking the ball with 22 seconds left on the play clock on 2nd and goal. And then came Gideon’s hands of stone.

Cut Alaska in half and Texas is still not the largest state in the union. So not everything is bigger in Texas.

Let's see how you do in the minor leagues the next 2 or 3 years before you move up to the big leagues.

we already are making waves that got the old regime upset..

I’ll bet we are bigger when it comes to the number of idiots. Not only are we importing a lot of them, we’re breeding and raising our own!!!

I don’t think you understand that UTJr and Vandy is a real rilvary. There is some hate there. It’s more of a rivalry than LSU v. Bama, although that game is almost always better.
So we go to 3 permanent teams for every one on 9 conference game schedule. You think Tenn is going to get by with Al, KY & Vandy while you’re playing Auburn, SC and Florida and Auburn is playing Alabama, Georgia and Vandy and Florida is playing Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss and so on.

I get what you guys are saying but I’m betting that UT loses Vandy or Kentucky and if we go to an 8 games 1 permanent opponent they are going to lose Bama. I bet that 1 opponent would be KY.

Brand, TV eyeballs, tradition, blue blood, revenue. I said you could swap UTjr and Auburn based on current performance. It’s fair to throw UT in there, too. Fair point.

Lol, I get criticized for writing too much detail, now you say I’m a troll. What you meant to say is I’m a meanie who put your team in the bottom of the SEC. Persuade me you should be in the top. I’m open to that. There was a time you were top 6, but then the last two decades happened.

We still have 2nd highest number of wins in SEC play.

Think about for a minute and you’ll see I’m right.

Tenn vs Alabama is not going anywhere.

More than likely Tenn vs KY isn’t going anywhere because that’s all KY has.

You guys have huge games with FL & UGA that are ratings getters as well.

Alabama vs LSU is done as well and that’s a massive game.

There are going to be some hard choices and I’ve seen multiple models that have Vandy going away. It’s not a sure thing it won’t but it’s not a guarantee you’ll salvage it either. If we go to 8 game schedule with one permanent opponent then the game is gone anyway.

It’s just the way this is trending right now.

For the record I’d be fine with ditching Bama and it would probably be more healthy for the state but the ratings are too high. Ratings are going to make the hard choices not emotions.

Under the new plan, we would still be seeing Florida, Georgia, etc. probably every 2 years.

They are not cancelling Tennessee-Vandy, that is an in-state rivalry and a game that has been played over 108 times and is one of the longest running series in College Football. Maybe if Vandy left the SEC, they might cancel the series but you are not going to have two teams from the same state in a conference that are NOT playing each other annually.

For example, if FSU joined the SEC, do you really think the SEC wouldn't move a game off Florida's 3 to add FSU?

SEC..SEC…SEC

This is how the SEC crap always starts. Someone makes a negative comment about your league and then you point out facts that destroy their argument and all of a sudden you are a conference nut swinger. I really don't care, I just wanted to call out bullcrap.

Your history of posting tells me if Hitler himself went to Ole Miss or Vandy or any other SEC school you’d defend him. I root for OU period. Don’t give a shit about any other XII school and soon enough won’t care about any other SEC school either.

Which has zero to do with whether you are in the top or bottom of the SEC in 2022 when they are deciding schedules that require establishing a bottom and top of the conference.

What we are saying is that you are posting as if the UTjr v. Vandy rivalry isn't one that will be kept as much as they will keep UF/UGA, AU/UA, OU/TX, etc. It is. I get that it means nothing to you. But neither does OM/MSU but you know they will keep that one. In state rivalries, even where one of the teams stinks like Vandy is still important in business and offices around that state where you alumni from both schools.

As for UTjr getting UA, VU and UK, I can see that. Truth be told, UK is basically on the same level as UTjr is right now and perhaps even considered better based on recent results. The way this is going to have to work is that the bottom SEC teams are going to get easier schedules than the top teams. They want that for the change of going to a bowl game, and TV will want it for eyeballs. And UTjr is in the bottom right now so they may get two easier games. I could also see UTjr getting UF if they don't have UF/LSU or UF/AU. For UF, UGA is a must but they then have UTjr, AU and LSU as 3 important rivals. They will get at least one of those.

UK vs Tennessee is a BIG rivalry in this area. Tennessee has also played UK more times than any other team.

Yeah, it's a border way. I am not trolling ... let's say you guys get out of this funk and move your way into the top half of the SEC. I can see the argument that now you get UK and Vandy while we get AU and UF. Or LSU gets ATM, UF and UA. But, for now those teams fit and those are big rivalries. Plus you get Bama, and right now that's pretty much a L every year, although you will get no sympathy from AU.

I can definitely see your point. Tennessee just happens to be in an area Geographically with rivals that haven't been good at football (they are competitive with Tennessee in other sports. In fact Tennessee is in the reverse roll historically for Men's Basketball).

Still keep in mind it will only be 2 matchups out of 8 or 9 conference games.
