They did an amazing job with Rogue One but could not replicate it. In fact, none of their other Star Wars content seems to even fit with Star Wars. Why did they start out so good and the epically fail with everything else?

I think the powers that be just let some producer run with Rogue One. The rest, they wanted to oversee keenly, and they put all their stank on it.

That and perhaps they had another development team. I saw Rogue One on tv the other day and I was just thinking, why can't the other movies from Disney be this good?

I feel like all of them with the exception of Return of The Jedi and Rogue One suck to varying degrees.

Too much WOKE content.

Maybe it's because of all the dorky ass fans that demand something, anything. And that's exactly what you get.
Have you seen these people

Well, you know the old saying don’t expect too much and you’ll never be disappointing.

As for myself I thought that most of these movies have been pretty good. I always thought that episode one through three were the worst Star Wars ever

This is a big part of the problem. Disney is prioritizing social/woke agendas in everything. Episodes 7-9 all had strong female leads in positions of power at all levels and whiny pussy beta males across the board. They went out of their way to ensure there was lesbian kissing and all kinds of unnecessary eye-roll-inducing woke shit.

Another layer is that they had different writers and directors for the different films which turned the story arc into a disjointed mess. If they would've committed to one writer/producer/director team for all 3 movies it would've turned out at least a little better.

Strong female leads are “woke”? And that was the problem with the Disney trilogy?

Don’t know what you mean by “whiny pussy beta males across the board,” but the leads in the original series trilogy and the prequels were emo as fuck. And what was the lesbian scene?

The problem wasn't that strong female leads existed, it's that 100% of strong leads were female. The only almost-strong 'good guy' male lead in the whole trilogy was Poe and he kept getting bitch-slapped by all the female leads throughout. In contrast, almost all the 'evil villian' leads were male. The 'woke' is overcompensation to establish female dominance in the universe.

I agree Luke and Anakin were emo in the first 6, but the rest of the key males weren't. Maybe throw C-3PO in there if you want to count a droid.

At the end of "Rise of Skywalker" they threw some lesbo kissing into the 'victory celebration' scene.

Thanks for the explanation. I disagree, we don’t need to argue about it though. The only thing I’ll pick out is i don’t know what you mean about Poe getting slapped around, from what I remember he specifically pushed back on or flat out went against one of the female leads multiple times throughout the trilogy.

I think the answer to how Disney ruined Star Wars is they didn’t. It’s always sucked. And new trilogies have gotten huge criticism from the fans since long before Disney.

And by sucked, I mean I like Star Wars, but they aren’t great movies. They’re corny, and were never meant to be taken seriously. Lucas just struck gold with the nerd culture and ran with it.

Plot holes, weird writing and general things that didn't make sense has happened since the first movie.

But you were a kid and didn't notice and/or care.

Boner

The last three weren’t perfect but they were entertaining. If Hamill hadn’t tried so hard to be a ham the 2nd would be much better.

I also think Solo was decent and loved Glovers Lando.

The prequels are bad and don’t get better with age.

I’ll agree Rogue one was the best Star Wars product since ESB.

That two seconds of lesbians kissing in the background at the very end of a movie ruined it all for me, I tell ya.
Actually, the kiss between Rey and Kylo right before Kylo pulled a Yoda was the worst part of 9. They spent the entirety of episodes 7-9 fighting with each other as 'hero' versus 'villain' only to somehow become romantically attached and kiss at the very end? Dumb. Gross.

In Rogue One, Jyn and Cassian had much more of a romantic connection/story arc than Rey and Kylo did - and at the end of the movie when they were watching their deaths approach they sat together with no smooching. Typical Hollywood BS has them kiss, but they didn't - which I thought made the ending even better.

The dumb and unnecessary kissing should've been left out of both cited scenes in 9.

Right? The idea that the rebel army includes women who are lesbians is just insane, even if it did makes sense that that’s a thing that could exist, showing it in a movie is just pure woke agenda pushing. We only wanna see pure hetero brother/sister kisses in our Star Wars.

I stopped watching after The Last Jedi but let me point out some stupidity from the start:

The Force Awakenings problems for me:

1. Dumb copy-paste Death Star clone but this time it has to be bigger (entire planet)
2. The whole shooting a laser through hyperspace that somehow splits and destroys every planet in a solar system had me totally lost. I literally think this is the dumbest scene in all of Star Wars. I guess the laser "used the force"
3. The fact that Rey had no Jedi training and defeated Kylo Ren
4. The fact that Finn was trained by Phasma (whatever her name was) but totally punked her in a dumb method to defeat her
5. The fact that the First Order was allowed to exist and get a Death Star planet is unbelievable
6. Action scenes at times were lame compared to original
7. Kylo Ren... enough said

That is just first movie, lets go to the Last Jedi

1. You build up Snoke and then have him bitch-slapped in 5 minutes
2. Kylo Ren... enough said
3. The new girl, Rose, is so focused on the mission but at the end of the movie, sacrifices everything to save Finn without really any character development to show why she would do that (common problem with all of the Disney Star Wars, no character development)
4. The hyperspace into enemy fleet stupidity
5. Laura Dern's character (I cannot remember her name)
6. How they depicted Luke Skywalker for the entire film (especially throwing away lightsaber)
7. I really do not like Poe's character as well and him acting like a child about Laura Dern's orders. Those scenes had cringe written all over them
8. Killing off Admiral Ackbar
9. Phasma getting punked a second time in a Marvel-like cheesy scene

After that, I have watched the Han Solo movie. It was alright but just came out as a B movie. I did NOT watch Rise of Skywalker because the entire bring back Emperor Palpatine crap turned me off.

One reviewer made a great point, there has been too much Marvel brought into the writing of Star Wars that doesn't work. It works great for Marvel Movies but not Star Wars. You can see it with the storylines in the newer films.

I do like Daisy Ridley and Rey but man did they mess her up in the writing by making her into a Mary Sue. Even Daisy Ridley acknowledged that. They also ruined Finn who was one of the most interesting characters in Star Wars ever by turning him into an almost comic relief in the Last Jedi.

In many ways, I wish they would not have brought back or minimized the original story characters because they butchered them, had greater character development with the new characters, removed the Marvel cheesy laugh scenes that don't fit, be more courageous with female characters (don't make them overpowered to be Woke but actually write real, believable characters), don't bring back Palpatine (Return of Jedi was great final moment for him), and come up with something Original.

None of that was done.
