So the Big XII just hired a basketball/NASCAR as the new commissioner. It's Brett Yormark. Seems like a strange hire to me but it's obvious they're trying to go a completely new direction. We'll see if it works.

Sounds like the hire is their best shot at mitigating the revenue fallout that is coming. I wish him the best of luck but it looks like he'll be pissing up a rope the whole time. Maybe there is some thread of financial optimisim that I'm not seeing. I'm not pessimistic in the least about the non financial aspects of the conference. I think it'll be very entertaining and competitive. I don't see any teams "dominating" the rest of them. But that parity probably doesn't bode well for a CFP spot.

When is the last time OU wasn't picked to win the conference? Baylor has to come through Norman this year and no shitty game by Caleb Williams to bail them out this time.

As for texas they are a solid 4th and not even close to be considered top 3. The questions on Defense, the OL and an inexperienced QB whoever it is. So with a new quarterback, questionable offensive line, zero pass rush and zero depth at linebacker they have a lot to prove.

The offense is what will carry this team.. Everyone points to the OL, but can it really be as bad as it was last season? As long as the offense doesn't go 3 and out 6 straight possessions in the 2nd half of games.. some of those losses will end up wins..

Defense is a big mystery.. Just hope they gamble a lot
