USC and UCLA planning to leave for B10 by 2024!

B1G 20:

Big 10 East:

Rutgers
Maryland
Penn State
Ohio State
Michigan

Big 10 North:

Michigan State
Notre Dame
Purdue
Indiana
Northwestern

Big 10 Central:

Wisconsin
Iowa
Illinois
Minnesota
Nebraska

Big 10 West:

UCLA
Usc
Stanford
Oregon
Washington

Play 10 conference games. The 4 in your division. Rotate between the other 4. Play a permanent opponent from another division for rivalry purposes ex: Michigan vs. Michigan State, ND vs. USC, Illinois vs. NW, etc... Fill out with one more conference game. East winner plays North Winner, Central winner plays West winner, winners play in the B1G CG at rotating locations, like the Rose Bowl, Indy, Minneapolis, Detroit, and Chicago.
I like the alignment.

Scheduling option, radical, but fun.

Play home and home in your division. Conference semis for 9th game. Outside division for non-division winners. Still get 3 OOC games.

Would be interesting if ND actually did join along with most of the PAC schools. Assuming there will be some sort of divisional order, does ND get fit in with the west to annually play USC & Stanford, or do they slot in with the Michigan and Indiana schools?

I broke it down earlier on what I would like to see. If it goes to 20, 4 five team pods would make sense. I stuck them in the "North" with MSU, Purdue(two historic rivals) and then IU rivals with Purdue and same state and NW(a little bit of history but not much). And then hopefully there is a provision of one permanent cross rival or something to that affect.

Right, and football travel matters very little. It's all the other sports where travel actually does matter since they aren't revenue generators.
I don't see that as much difference than taking 2 weeks going to Florida for baseball and softball. If the TV money is that much better, there should be more funds available. I would have to see a detailed athletic budget to go any further with this discussion.

TV money is going to be absurd. Somehow managed to shoehorn in NYC, Chicago, and LA into the same network. Fox loves this development

I don't think UCLA and USC or any PAC schools were on the SEC radar. We have plenty to pick from within our geographic range. CLemson, FSU, Miami, VaTech, UNC, NCSU, and even WV if so inclined. Every time we have added a team, it has been in the same state as another SEC team, or contiguous thereto.

I think this is a good move for the B1G ... if I were a Wisky fan, or a PSU fan, I'd love to go see a game in SoCal. But the travel is what bothers me. If they use some of that extra money to charter flights for the non-football sports, then I am for it. But if they are going to go on and on about the student-athlete and how much academics means, they can fuck off. This will screw up the athletes academics in a big way.

Per reports, they don't appear to be done. I am not sure it makes sense to do this and not get an entire west coast division. I am guessing they go after Cal, Stanford, Ore, and Wash. All are AAU schools, and that would give you 6 teams out west.

This is why the B1G really needs to add a couple of more Pac12 teams. They are stupid to stop at USC and UCLA. The geographical reach is too much unless you can get more local teams. One of the Arizonas might be nice or Oregon and Washington (although USC to Oregon and USC to Washington isn't a short trip either).

I see alot of speculation of going for a ND addition. IIRC they are contractully obligated to join the ACC if they join any conference up to 2035.

you have some real cuck energy going on here

Just stating a fact -- Texas is 83-67 since 2010. That is playing in one of the weaker conferences in CFB. You are going to the SEC -- it isn't going to get easier.

ACC has 14 members. They don't need to add anyone at the moment unless they can lure in ND (unlikely).

PAC will probably add SDSU now but the current PAC members are probably more focused on leaving than adding teams

Although he is kind of nuts, I think Gold& Blue Boy on Youtube may have a good point. The two teams that make the most sense for ACC are Notre Dame and West Virginia. West Virginia brings a lot of Big East rivalry matchups that people would tune into and having them in Big12 just seems to be a mistake. They are too caught up in the stereotypes of West Virginia to pay attention to its value (sure it isn't a super brand but it is the strongest brand in the current Big12. The Pitt-West Virginia and Va Tech-West Virginia games would bring eyeballs).

Colorado.
They make sense geographically either way.

You are right but I am hoping they get passed over just to see the absurdity of Colorado having to reapply to join the Big12.

UCLA as one of the biggest draws? ha
Oregons academics are still better than B1g current member Nebraska and not far off from a few others. they are still AAU
UCLA is more for the athletics as a whole and the academics, not just football.

And I don't disagree -- you could be on par with Nebraska, but I think they turned a blind eye to Nebraska, as they fit being in the midwest. I'd love to have Oregon in the B1G, but as a matter of fit, Stanford, Washington, Cal, Notre Dame are all better options.

West Virginia is a potential target for the ACC. I just don't see Notre Dame giving up independence for the ACC. Big Ten? Maybe

They are contractually obligated to look at ACC first plus Notre Dame has historically avoided B1G for a variety of reasons (their are opinions here but I think Notre Dame likes being "special" and would be more "special" in ACC than B1G).

The money available to them if they join the Big Ten makes a buyout possible. Money trumps tradition or "special" feelings. We're seeing that right now.

If UCLA and USC wanted to make playoffs, they picked the wrong league. B1G has 2 National Championships this Millenia in Football and 0 in Basketball.
