I get they’re scuffling a bit, but they’ve had some rough luck in the rotation and their pen sucks, and they’re currently in line for a WC spot...

Well, there goes this season

Dat offense, dough

Division's pretty deep right now, for sure. Probably going to have all the wildcards unless Seattle goes on a late-season run
Seattle is playing good ball too and they’re only a half game out of the the WC and play a far easier division schedule, it wouldn’t really take a run for Seattle to get in IMO.

But it’s looking like the best division I can remember. In 2005, every NL East team was at least .500, but that was just pure mediocrity with win totals of 90, 88, 83, 83 and 81

I'd be fine with Seattle in the playoffs over Boston or Tampa. Offense is middling but they have one of the better team ERA's in the league

If the Mariners make the playoffs and the Phillies don’t, the Phillies would have the longest active playoff drought in the Majors and the world needs that to happen

Team needs to get more serious about things and Charlie's light approach is part of the reason. Now is when you hire whoever the 2020s version of Billy Martin is.

Team needs to be more like Bo, who still manages to smile and have fun. But he's serious as hell about doing what it takes (before and during) to win every little battle that he can.

Bo Duke is their interim manager. Could work

Lets not get carried away just yet!
They are sitting at the same record today as they were one year ago and still missed the playoffs.
The Angels little bitch move a few weeks back lite a fire under their butts just a little more.

The have two big bats coming back here after the break lets see if the streaking can keep up

Gilbert's a stud and Kirby looks promising.

Even if the offense is middling, there aren't a lot of holes (only two of their players with 200+ PA have an OPS+ below 100, and I'd expect Frazier to rebound). Suarez is having a nice comeback year and Winker's been hitting pretty well lately (.270/.387/.524 over the last 28 days)

There may not have been any powerhouse teams, but I'd also say those records say more about how tough their schedules were. All five teams played over 100 games against .500+ teams (Mets had the most with 115). The only other team with 100+ games against .500+ teams was the Cubs.

There you have it, McNabb, guaranteed Mariners WS
