Mock Drafts : Chat

Draft idea: Pre draft everybody selects one team that is eligible for the draft pool. Everybody can select players from those teams only. One year eligibility. Players are judged by entire careers not just career with that team. I came to this after our fearless leader rejected a Packers only draft lmao

I like it! But nobody is allowed to pick the Packers, deal??
 
Seriously though, we should do this with baseball first.
 
That gives me another idea….

You start the same as 500’s idea except we pick out of a hat. We do this every 3 rounds. Just luck of the draw. Can’t use the same team twice. One year eligibility.

Example: we have all 30 teams in a hat. The first person gets the Yankees, no one else can have that team for those 3 rounds.

Doesn’t doing it every 3 rounds defeat the purpose? You just end up using pretty much all the teams

We would have 18 rounds for baseball so each player would only pick from 6 teams….

You didn’t quite grasp the original idea then haha. Let’s say the draft has 8 teams. Everybody picks one team pre draft. You can pick from any one of the 8 teams not just the team you selected pre draft

Ahh gotchya lol. Mine is definitely much different than that but I like that idea

Just my thoughts, lets not make it so easy now we went through one sport.

First we pick a draft order. The last pick gets to choose their team first but the wrinkle: you can only pick one team per division. This works if we get 8.

Example: You pick the Vikings. Nobody else can pick a team in the NFCN. So essentially the last person who picks will have a choice between 5 teams in one division.

This idea could narrow down the field unless people just pick the best team in every division of course lol.
