FanDuel is basically saying there are only 4 options to who is winning the natty this year. If you had to make a large bet, which way do you go? Crazy odds for the field, I think I'd have to take my chances that another SEC team steps up
 
I’m not gonna bet anything with -650 odds, but I have a hard time picturing the natty going to any other program. No action for me, but gun to my head, I’m risking a lot to win a little
 
I'm not so sure about Clemson. They lost Venables and were less than impressive last year.

My money would still be on Alabama or (insert whatever random SEC team is going to be #2 this year like LSU, Georgia or Florida).

Maybe Ohio State? but IDK man. Starting with ND AND playing both Wisconsin and Iowa from the West is a pretty darn tough schedule to get through this year. @MSU and @PSU. That's about as rough as you can get it for B10 scheduling.
 
I would probably bet on Alabama. I really don't gamble though other than playing Texas Hold-em with friends and that is more about a social occasion than gambling.

Interestingly, sometimes playing a harder schedule has been a boost for teams competing for National Titles. Typically the teams that play the softer schedules don't live up to expectations.

Or make it to the national title game like ND did in 2013. Or UCF, Boise, Utah....did

Clemson started out rough but did seem to be playing better towards the end of the season. I think they get back on track this season and the ACC still isn't going to provide all that much competition.

Ohio State's defense HAS to improve. Simple as that. If Knowles and the new staff can get those kids playing better, especially against the run, then none of those teams should beat Ohio State. Barring unforeseen injuries as well

Well then, tOSU needs to start flexing some of their muscle with B1G headquarters...especially the scheduling department. Send 'em to the SEC to learn how to dump those type schedules on their weaker brethren.

As I type this I'm not sure if it is to stir up the B1G or the SEC faithful. So, let it ride.

After examing the Ohio State schedule more closely, maybe they've already been to the SEC school of scheduling. They just didn't get an "A+". Toledo, Wisconsin, Rutgers,@Sparty, BYE, Iowa, @Penn State is the stretch. So, sans the Iowa/Penn State back to backs, they do have some mush in between games and 4 of 6 are at home. What they didn't learn at their time in the SEC school of scheduling is to schedule an FCS team right before the Michigan game. But, I guess a three game gauntlet of @Northwestern, Indiana, @Maryland is comparable and will suffice.

Yeah Clemson doesn't have a lot of competition unless NC State actually lives up to hype for once. FSU and Miami seem to be in a perpetual rebuild.

Ohio State has to contend with Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Wisconsin. They actually got threats on their schedule.

To be fair to Clemson, they typically try to go schedule big-time OOC games like Georgia last year.

We had a top 25 SoS according to every BCS computer. And even top 10 in some of them. Comparing the schedule we played to those others is pretty disingenuous.

I'm taking the field because I hear tell that USC, Texas, Miami and Florida State are "back".

And Oregon, I hear they are now approaching blue blood status.

And LSU, cuz they just hired a new coach and have an unbroken string of coaches winning nattys. Three in a row. So it doesn't seem to matter who the coach is nowadays for them. So make it four.

And Notre Dame. They have a new coach that is a recruiting machine.

And Wisconsin. They have an offensive line.
 
Honestly, if it were just UGA and Bama vs the field, I still wouldn’t bet the field
