Mock Drafts : Chat

I honestly don't see any benefit picking one team from each division. This is going to harder than baseball because baseball has about 70 more years of players being picked.

You are the one that loves restrictions but I do agree it won't be as wide open as baseball. You don't see as many football players playing for 5-6 teams imo. Either way if people are picking the best teams, it will be pretty wide open in any sport.

Anyone: I have a great idea for a draft.

Shane: That's a good idea, but how about instead we do something completely different.

Someone has to take the Milk role eventually

You just don't accept change!

How about an NFL where in the first 4 rounds, it's alright to pick players that have already been picked. Then it wouldn't matter who the first pick was, you get anyone you want. After that, for the next 18 rounds we go salary cap of $90, must take players not yet picked. Also, you can't pick two players from the same franchise, but if they played one game with a team, they qualify

It would work for NBA though....

A little late for the NFL draft, but I found the rules of the sabotage draft. We actually did right before Covid took over the world. I thought it was way before that...

Let's do a sabotage Draft. NFL, 24 man draft, all-time open.

Each GM selects 10 players first, normal rounds.

After that, each team is randomly re-assigned to another GM. They will have to make the next 8 picks for the team they are assigned. The requirement is that each player they select must have an open position available on that team (i.e. you can't draft 4 centers for your o-line or 5 DE's. you have to fill the roster out as you would a regular one). Each player must have at least 1 pro-bowl appearance. The goal is to make that team as bad as you can for those 8 picks.

The team is then shifted back to the original GM, who rounds out the last 6 picks for their own teams.

You'll have so many unbalanced teams and "overrated" players listed that it'll be a shit show trying to figure out who's team would beat who's. I think it would get the drafts out of their funk with some arguments and some general laughs.

Player must have started 32 games at the position you are using them for!!

DRAFT ORDER
TEAM/SABOTEUR
1. Stakes/Ducey
2. Ducey/Hall
3. Sushi/Femur
4. Shane/Nos
5. Nos/UK
6. UK/Milk
7. Mookie/Shane
8. Hall/Sushi
9. Femur/Mookie
10. Milk/Stakes

Who's idear was this?

Ya know I wouldnt mind doing these same drafts sometime in the future, just use different teams.

These were fun drafts, will we do the NBA version next?
NBA seems like it would be easiest sport if we took some of the top teams. Less difficult than the NFL…do we do the same concept as NFL or just pick a team like MLB?

Do you even know everyone's favorite NBA teams?

I think it’s the Knicks for 500. Maybe Celtics for Duce.
