Notre Dame Seeking $75 million/yr from NBC

ARE Notre Dame home games worth that kind of money these days though?

Marshall
Cal
BYU
Stanford
UNLV
Clemson
Navy
Boston College..

At least one of those will be steamed on Peacock +. Also, BYU will be played in Vegas.

Not if you combine Notre Dame's ACC payout.

It's like tejas. When you combine their Big 12 payout with the LHN payout, they are on par with Big 10 and SEC payouts.
I haven't crunched the numbers but I would think the B1G with ND would exceed that.

$75 million from NBC (they won't get that tho) + their ACC payout would be right up there with what they'd get from the Big 10 or SEC.

They'd actually reach $100 million sooner.

This my friends is a textbook example of having someone by the old short hairs

Holy Football Jesus.... That is some serious price gouging. What does ND bring to the table for that kinda cash. The last TV channel I watch for college football is NBC

I doubt they get that, but I could see $50 million.

They're the only team out there that can say any conference would expand with them in less than a second.
That is a fact.

Oh, I'm sure that if ND were looking for a conference , they would be in control of where they'd be going... ND would be much more interesting in a conference.

I don’t think this is true. They got an equal share 34mm from the ACC in the COVID year due to a special arrangement of revenue sharing which included NBC money but the year before they got just under 11mm.

They would get close but I’m not sure 25mm is on the table when they got 11 under the same contract. I think 90mm is a better target if they got the full 75mm from NBC.

Even so.... Are the Big 10 or SEC gonna be getting $100 million next year?

No. That projection is years down the road.

Mind you I don't expect ND gets the $75 million, but like tejas (Big 12 + LHN) they'll be similar to Big 10/SEC current payouts once you add in the ACC payout to the NBC deal.

If they get the full $75 million, they'll be considerably ahead of the Big 10/SEC current payouts.

Wait, you think they will get 75 mil PLUS an ACC cut, every season??!

ESPN will be smiling ear to ear, knowing with the ACC contract they get to showcase 2 or 3 ND games on their platform.. without having to pay anything what NBC is going to pay

I don't think they'll get the $75 million. That's a high number they threw on the table to open negotiations.

If ND stays independent they will be doubling down on their NBC deal and their ACC deal.

tejas does it with their Big 12 payout + their LHN deal.

That LHN deal is gone once they go to the SEC though. They're not gonna get SEC Network monies + LHN monies + SEC media rights payouts.

Sounds like a sweet deal if it happens
Ut oh ~ Texas is independently thinking right now.

Telling you.. ESPN has to pay out the remainder of the LHN contract.. Texas can't take it to the SEC but the contract was fully guaranteed. Which was another reason why UT had money to pay it's exit fees.

Edit* Also in regards to ND.. for it to work like UT in the Big 12 w/LHN.. NBC would provide 50 mil a year and the ACC would kick in 25 mil for it's tier 3 games

There very few schools who could do this.. UT would be one of them.. but they won't go this route.. playing in a conference vs ark, aggy, and ou every season.. plus matchups vs Bama/UF/UGA mixed in, is good enough

*Money doesn't hurt either :)

This will really add to the record inflation.
