By far the most underrated and oddly hated movies on Hoopla. And I get it. When I first saw the first one I thought it was super boring. Watched it again though and actually liked it and then was able to catch the 3rd one in theaters. Still after that first watch I wasn't that enamored with it. However over time and going through and re-watching it all again many times since I just end up loving those movies more and more each time. Everything about those movies stand the test of time and many parts where it isn't CGI and it's actually orcs in makeup and shit, the movie just looks so much better than your large budget everything CGI Marvel type movies.

And the LotR movies are all epic with epic fights and battles. The story is just epic. The score throughout and on site shots. It is easily the greatest trilogy ever made and they are 3 of the best movies ever made of all time. At least one if not all 3 are in the top 10 all time.

For those that have held long standing view of not liking it but haven't watched it in a long time. Go check it out in 4k. Give it another try.

I've got the Director's Cut BluRay box set. Great stuff on all fronts.

Can't stand the Hobbit in any iteration. No interest in any TV series.

But the box set is great stuff.

Most repeat viewings of any discs I own.

Two Towers is still the only movie I got high in the parking lot before hand and been completely cleared headed when I got back to the parking lot.

Where did they find real orcs?

LOTR movies are barely a step above the Hobbit movies and the Star Wars prequels.
Peter Jackson is a horrible director.
Those movies are trash that nerds just desperately *want to* love.

Full disclosure, I recently watched the first LoTR with the score played live by the Cleveland Orchestra and two choirs, which was pretty bad ass.

I was surprised by how many meme's/gifs nerds have made out of that movie, though.

Yeah I saw an orchestra in Philadelphia do that at an outside venue a few summers back. Incredible way to watch the movie.
