For years after my playing days were over I would watch a football game and think "I could fill that hole" or "make that tackle" then as the years went by it graduated to "For just one play I've got one more good stop in me". I was watching some pre-season action last night and all I thought was "man that would hurt so bad and I would probably never walk again".

Without me even realizing it my dreams have died.

Just change your dreams, be the deep snapper. Those guys can play until they are 50.

that's why you have to start at long snapper and never waiver.

When my my ex-wife was attending USC she stayed in the dorms. I used to drive out to see her on my days off. She had asked me a couple of times why I stopped playing football. I would just say, ''for that level, I didn't have the speed to play the positions I had the size to play''. She never completely understood what I meant.

Then one morning we were having breakfast and I saw a couple of USC's huge offensive linemen walking through carrying trays with enough food for 3-4 people. I said...''remember when you asked me why I don't play football anymore?'' She says ''Yes'', I said ''That's why" and pointed.

She looks, turns to me and says ''I'm really glad that you don't play football anymore''.

I was always one of the shortest in my class despite being fast and athletic. So that killed my chance. I played Junior High but quit at Highschool level and did other sports that I could fit with such as basketball, golf, cross-country, and track. (The latter two being my best sports).

Funny thing is people asked me about playing High School Football and my response was, "do you want me to get killed?" I think they were joking anyways.

I was a center in high school and was actually pretty decent at snapping for kicks. If I had known what I know now I would have focused just on that and snapped all summer over and over until I was the best ever.

I could have walked on anywhere, earned a scholarship, and had a shot at the NFL if you had the vision.

That literally has entered my mind many many times.
