^admitted bandwagon fanAuburn reaching UTjr level of dysfunction. Goodness, it must be embarrassing to be an Auburn fan.
Before you accuse me of piling on, trust me when I say this, we've been where you are - the mid-late 80s and 90s was just as bad for UGA. I pretty much ignored UGA sports for how badly we handled everything.
All Georgia fans are bandwagon fans^admitted bandwagon fan
That’s perfect, Chewy will be proudAll Georgia fans are bandwagon fans
Am I doing this right?
Who did the boosters want?![]()
Allen Greene reportedly in negotiations over his future as Auburn's athletics director
Allen Greene has reportedly learned about his future.www.saturdaydownsouth.com
Allen Greene is reportedly on his way out as Auburn’s athletics director, according to a report from Pete Thamel of ESPN. The negotiations are about “his imminent departure from the school.”
The boosters are winning and Greene is getting cut loose because he didn't pick who they wanted as HC of the football team. To survive Harsin is going to have to overachieve and he doesn't have the team he needs to do that.
I'll be shocked if there isn't another coaching search after this season and if goes bad enough he might be out before the end of the season (although I would have no idea who would be interim). We are officially in Tennessee level territory with this shit.
I still laugh every time I see a trash can.You sound like a Tennessee fan with the Fulmer situation. Bad administration can be rough.
I have always thought Auburn was a little too gun slinging about firing coaches but you always seem to land a decent hire despite it. Now it seems like it isn't working out.
It was frustrating seeing Auburn, Georgia, and LSU firing coaches that won SEC Championships and National Titles but landing good coaches after it while Tennessee fired Fulmer and botched hire after hire since.
I feel like just a decent coach can make Tennessee respectable.
My guess is they want Hugh FreezeYes
good question
who's the next coach
Kevin SteeleWho did the boosters want?
FIFYI’m not the rapist bro.
Kevin Steele
Well, people at least knew who he was...I'm not sure I could pick Harsin out of a lineup.Kevin Steele
Just googled him. Seems to be a good DC but struggled as a HC. He definitely deserves a second chanceKevin Steele
My experience is probably different, I grew up in Tennessee in the 90s-00s and the Tennessee fans were way worse. I got all kinds of shit at school so I hated Tennessee way more. One of my best friends growing up lived down the street from me, his whole family are Auburn fans and they were super good to me.Nothing against Wild Turkey but I won't lie, I want to see Auburn just collapse and go through a period like Tennessee has had to do. Auburn fans have been some of the worse about trolling Tennessee during our stretch.
I lived in Birmingham for 3 years and when I went down there, I was expecting commonality with Auburn fans. Growing up, Tennessee fans often looked at Auburn as the "enemy of my enemy" and allies. Nope. Auburn fans were even WORSE than Alabama fans. Alabama fans were actually pretty level-headed unless you brought up Fulmer (they still get angry when you do that). The time period was 2006-2009 so Saban wasn't at Alabama yet. He came towards the end of my time in Birmingham. Bama fans were pretty humble during that period because they hadn't been great the last 10 or so years (still a better run than Tennessee's last 10 years). I imagine Bama fans would be more obnoxious if I was there now.
@Rolltide94, @bamafan4evr12 I remember Alabama fans always saying the following and I am wondering if you or the other fans on here have heard this:
Tennessee was Alabama's respectable rivalry
Auburn was the team Alabama fans flat out hated.
I am kind of looking forward to new scheduling. I think it could change things for Tennessee. On paper we should have it made in the SEC East but we have had this Florida hex on us since 1992 division splits. Our program just seemed to be more consistent and competitive prior to the divisions for some reason and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact we almost always lose that first game against Florida every year.
