Well that's a load of shit. My father grew up in Alabama, went to Alabama and for a time we donated to Alabama.

I lived in Birmingham for 3 years and when I went down there, I was expecting commonality with Auburn fans. Growing up, Tennessee fans often looked at Auburn as the "enemy of my enemy" and allies. Nope. Auburn fans were even WORSE than Alabama fans. Alabama fans were actually pretty level-headed unless you brought up Fulmer (they still get angry when you do that). The time period was 2006-2009 so Saban wasn't at Alabama yet. He came towards the end of my time in Birmingham. Bama fans were pretty humble during that period because they hadn't been great the last 10 or so years (still a better run than Tennessee's last 10 years). I imagine Bama fans would be more obnoxious if I was there now.

@Rolltide94, @bamafan4evr12 I remember Alabama fans always saying the following and I am wondering if you or the other fans on here have heard this:

Tennessee was Alabama's respectable rivalry

Auburn was the team Alabama fans flat out hated.

I am kind of looking forward to new scheduling. I think it could change things for Tennessee. On paper we should have it made in the SEC East but we have had this Florida hex on us since 1992 division splits. Our program just seemed to be more consistent and competitive prior to the divisions for some reason and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact we almost always lose that first game against Florida every year.

I hate Tennessee more...Wife and oldest son went to the Barn, so I have to keep it in check because Thanksgiving...plus I lived through the Fatty Fulmer era.

I never understood people like you. Growing up Tennessee but not cheering for a team based in Tennessee is like growing up in United States but cheering for China or Russia.

Fulmer :dhd: . I still don't understand why he is in Alabama fans head? I mean it isn't like you guys won the major lottery with Saban and have basically owned the sport the last 15 years but still you talk constantly about Fulmer.

Maybe because I have a closer connection to my father than the fucking place I grew up. And actual familial ties to Alabama.

Cheered for the Titans since they came to Tennessee. Your analogy is fucking stupid.

By your logic someone living in Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, SC and NC can't be a Braves fan because they didn't grow up in Georgia. How fucking stupid.

Also, you're fucking signature says it all "Always root for Vols first but UK #2 due to Grandfather being a HUGE fan of them and Army #3 due to family connections."

That makes some sense but there are so many fans out there that just cheer for Alabama right now because they are good and none of them were around prior to 2008.

Trust me, I know. And they'll disappear the first time Alabama loses 3 games. I remember having to listen to games on the radio because of probation. That's why I don't say much to Tennessee fans about what they've witness with their team - even though I'd love to - because I've been there.

I'm just enjoying the ride now and hoping post Saban Alabama can be consistent like Ohio State or Oklahoma

No problem. What kind of sucks as a Tennessee fan is too of our big rival fan bases are actually pretty easy to get long with. Florida fans used to come to our cookouts (they were only SEC fanbase to do that). Alabama fans (if from the school) are pretty reasonable unless you bring up Fulmer.

Regarding the Outburst, I started it so no foul. I have seen so many people in Tennessee become "Bama" fans. They do it more because they hate Tennessee or just want to troll Vols fans than any love for Alabama and its traditions.
