PAC 12 Eliminated From The Playoff In Week One

We are still undefeated

True, but you are unranked and may still be this week. That's a lot of teams to have to pass. Plus, USC and UCLA are as well and both are ranked ahead of you. You do get a chance to change part of that against us on Oct. 8th.

Your first paragraph was exactly my point for this thread, the PAC is never out of it if SC is undefeated or even a 1 loss champ.

I don’t think SC will go undefeated or even have less then 2 losses. But 9-3 is the worst I see you going. You’ll beat Stanford next weekend and while Oregon State will be tough up there I think you win. I have ya’s at 10-2. But anything is possible.
I'd be surprised if we have even two undefeated teams at the end of the year. Most teams trip up and drop one they had no business doing so in the course of a season. UGA will likely be undefeated, just don't have any hard games the rest of the way.

True, but you aren't blue blood or currently ranked. Certainly could be by the end of the season!

Georgia was the only team that I had going 12-0 through regular season.

The Ducks saw their national title hopes dashed in the 49-3 loss to No. 3 Georgia in Atlanta. Sure, it's only one loss, but a blowout loss like that as a member of the Pac-12 means that the college football world would have to implode for Dan Lanning's crew to even be in the discussion.
I read this today. I thought @OregonDucks would like to give us his thoughts on this quote.

I don't disagree although that's mostly because someone from the SEC will have to lose in the conference champ game. But I fully expect every other P5 conference to not produce any undefeated teams when we get to bowl season.

Eh, we’ve been untangled several times and finished in the top 10. Generally we lose a game like Idaho and end up in the top 20. I know people dislike acknowledging it but it has been proven since the 2012 it is better to just put us at 17 rather than the usual of putting us way up top, then we lose, then we win, then we lose the Apple Cup. 17-22 is where we should always be ranked. Our offense giving Idaho 17 points actually gives me confidence against Wisconsin.

i dont know about implode. it would basically take Oregon to go 11-1 have USC go undefeated and play for the Pac 12 championship. have BYU go undefeated except to Oregon. have Utah go undefeated the rest of the way except Oregon and USC finish 9-3 likely a top 25 still. then have other P5 champs be 1 loss and those losses not just be worse than losing to UGA because pretty much all of them will be but have have them be to significantly worse teams like whoever wins the Big XII and ACC have their 1 loss be to a 7-5 team by 21. the only reason its even plausible is due to having seen weirder things in years like 2007. no i dont think this exact matter of circumstances will even remotely happen.

Utah is going to need a quality win to overcome this, but it is early so could happen. Will need USC to stay highly ranked and Oregon to somehow get back in the rankings.
does Oregon even fall out? i mean i think they stay just in the rankings like 23

Should have just started with the bolded and called it a day.

a day? maybe for you to think all that up it would take a whole day i lost like 2 min.

I know but we all wish it was an entire day.

But in a 12 team playoff they’ll get two in
You’re taking this way too hard. There is zero reason to go beyond the 4 spots we currently have but if that is what they want to do so be it.

This will last about 5 years and then the G5 will split into their own playoff. At that point the PAC is most likely gone and there will be a ton of noise about ACC teams shopping. In 10 years highly probable that the playoff consist of a B1G and SEC playoff in their respective leagues to name champs and those two will play for the natty.

That’s where this is headed.
