We have wildfires (less risk due to more rainfall), earthquakes (rare) and volcanoes (rare). No hurricanes on this side of the state.

I have zero desire to move back to California. Just about the only scenario I could see doing so is if I was forced to choose between California and Florida.

So I thought I convinced the boss not to go to NYC later this month for this charity thing that is under the "Prince of Wales" charitable foundation thing (yes, Charles's money laundering pyramid scheme 
). Then, earlier this morning, he says, "I feel like I should go to this Prince thing at the end of the month. What if I go and then just do Teams meetings" and I'm like, 
"The issue is that most of the meetings are during your flight time, but i'll check to see what's available" <cue mini-tantrum and not looking for flights while I pout about it> Then, about 20 minutes later, he says, "Actually, never mind." Cool. Saved me from doing something I had no interest in doing!
Just now, I received an email from the organizers: "The whole team is greatly saddened by the news of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. Our thoughts are with our Founder, His Majesty The King, and members of the Royal Family at this sad time. Operations will be closed today as a mark of respect and we will be postponing all external engagements during the official period of mourning."
Event is cancelled because it's in their official morning period!
